An electric furnace in the workshop allows you to quickly warm up food or make tea. An electric furnace can be purchased at a store or supermarket, but we offer to make it yourself from ordinary brick.
Let's watch the author’s video
What do we need:
- chamotte brick;
- a spiral from an electric stove;
- two screw bolts;
- 4 nuts;
- 4 washers;
- 2 pieces of fiberglass;
- plug with cable.
Fiberglass will be used to seal screws. According to the author, it makes no sense to use plastic, since the brick will heat up, and the plastic will simply burn out. Let's get started.
The first thing you need to do on the brick is 6 cuts. These cuts are necessary in order to lay a nichrome spiral in them.
Then we drill two holes with a drill. These holes will serve to screw two screws into them and reliably bring the power source to the spiral.
Insert pieces of fiberglass into the holes to seal the screws.
We tighten the screws.
Screw the nuts onto the bolts.
Put on the pucks.
We wrap the remaining two nuts over the washers.
Stretch the spiral and set it to cuts.
We wind the ends of the spiral onto the bolts.
We also wind the cable from the plug onto the bolts and fix it carefully with the upper nuts.
Our electric furnace is ready. Hope this useful homemade will find application in your workshop.
