The matter is not so complicated, but it’s still worth learning, especially since you can deal with an electric soldering iron. However, you can work with a simple soldering iron, burning it on a gas burner fire or other open fire. Such soldering irons usually have the shape of a small hammer, so squares are burned out with the front plane, rectangles on the side plane, and small strokes are applied on the pointed side. Yes, that soldering irons also fit ordinary knitting needles for them. They are also heated in an open flame or in a furnace fire, and then they are taken with forceps, or even better with pliers, and the intended pattern is burned out. For this case, you can adapt half the buckle from the belt or something similar, or even hats of large nails, only first they need to be prepared for burning patterns. The hat is ground with a file, giving it the shape of a star or a triangle. If we take nails of different sizes, we get stamps with which you can perform the most bizarre combinations of patterns. Pay attention to metal rings. They put round shapes in the figure. Take rings of various sizes in combination with the appropriate holder.
Anyone who has been engaged in burning for a long time usually accumulates a whole set of homemade template tools. However, the main thing is not an instrument, but patience. If you are a fidget, it’s hard to hope for success. If you are reckless with fire, then you will cause trouble. So, whatever you are, before starting work, you need to think about safety. Flammable objects, in addition to the wood currently being processed, must be removed away from the workplace. We will build some stable strong substrate. It is advisable to cover it with a sheet of iron, well, at least a baking sheet on the reverse side. We will not forget about the means of extinguishing a possible fire, which, due to negligence, God forbid, will arise. Take care of airing, because smoke will go from burning out and your eyes will begin to water. What patterns then! The most suitable place to work (if this happens at home) would be a table by the window in the kitchen.
