We suggest you make a simple ultraviolet lamp in less than 10 minutes from very cheap materials. This lamp can be used as the simplest counterfeit money detector. The fact is that all banknotes have small “pieces” of material in their composition that glow in ultraviolet rays. Another good news is that you can use this lamp not only as a counterfeit money detector, but also as a fun toy: you can study various materials for their response to ultraviolet light.
Caution! Do not look too long at ultraviolet light, it can be harmful to your eyes. Please, take care of yourself.
Materials used.
All you need is a flashlight and a small UV lamp.
Disassembly.
Carefully remove the cap from the lamp, pull out the light bulb located there, disassemble the flashlight itself, as shown in the pictures above.
UV LED Preparation
Take the new LED lamp. Do not be discouraged if it is different from the one shown in the picture. You need to prepare the “legs” of this lamp in order to connect to the wires in the flashlight. Be careful not to mix up the poles, otherwise the bulb will simply burn out.
We insert the lamp into the flashlight.
In our case, the bulb was a little stronger than necessary. Therefore, we laid a small piece of paper as shown in the photo above. Then we put the batteries in, check if the wires are connected correctly, check, and after that we begin the full assembly of the flashlight.
Check the flashlight in action.
The flashlight is ready! Let's see its effect.
How it looks is shown in the pictures above. You can also try the action of a flashlight on any other item in your home. Most importantly, do not forget that you can not look at ultraviolet for a long time, this can harm your health. Take care of yourself!
