When the old huge tanks, which were previously used to collect and store water, begin to rust and become worthless, you involuntarily think about how they can be used.
There is always a way out, from them you can make chic flower beds. You can consider different ideas regarding the shape of future flower beds, but trying to bend corrugated iron the way you want is a very difficult thing. Therefore, the best option is to cut the tank into sections, and then connect them together.
Step # 1: Removing the tank
Dismantling the tank is not easy, this colossus, designed for a huge amount of water, is fortified with screws and glue to prevent leaks. To start, prepare the tank - clean it. After that, cut off the top cover, and then proceed with cutting the tank.
Step # 2: Disassembly
Remove the rivets, glue and divide the tank into separate sheets, and then proceed to their processing. If you have enough space on the site, then you can first sort the entire barrel into separate sheets. If not, then each first needs to be cut into pieces, and then only take off the next one.
Step number 3: cut into pieces
Each sheet, which, in fact, is a circle, needs to be cut into 4 parts. Then connect them in pairs and get "boats".
To make the quarters the same, you can use a rope. First, wrap it around a whole sheet, and then fold it in half and again in half. Cut the sheets into parts - we get 12 identical parts. Eight of them will have a jagged edge on one side - traces of cut covers. This edge should be below, on the ground, so that no one gets hurt.
Step # 4: Connect the Parts
United halves really resemble boats. In order to fix the halves, connect them with strips of perforated metal corner and tighten with bolts.
Step # 5: Fill the boat with earth
In order to fill the boats with soil, it is very convenient to use a mini excavator. Add some gravel drainage to the bottom of each boat.
Pour some wood sawdust on top of the gravel, they will become a good nutrient base under a layer of soil.
Sprinkle fertilized soil.Keep in mind that it will shrink and after that you will need to add more.
Step # 6: Creativity
Decorate the boat giving credibility. Use old oars and boat oarlocks. Long pipe trunks will become masts, fasten the twine on them, which at the same time will become a support for curly beans.
Step # 7: Two months later
Beautiful and unusual flower beds turn green, bloom and delight the eye. We hope you enjoy this idea.
