Jigsaw files often fail, and you have to go to a store or market to buy new ones. In this material, we present to your attention an overview of a very useful video on the hand-made production of a nail file from a hacksaw blade.
Let's start by watching the author’s video
What we need:
- Factory file for a jigsaw;
- hacksaw blade;
- ruler;
- scriber with victorious soldering;
- pliers;
- a drill.
A factory file for a jigsaw will serve as a template by which we will make a homemade one.
To get started, take a ruler and divide the hacksaw blade in half lengthwise.
Then with a scribe with a victorious soldering we make a deep cut.
We make the same cut from the back.
Next, with pliers, we begin to divide the canvas in half. Thanks to the previously made cut, this can be done without any problems.
Then we apply the template to the workpiece and repeat its outline with a scriber.
Also note the length of the factory file.
Cutting the nail file is most convenient with a drill, since it allows you to do it more accurately.
According to the author, using one double-sided blade you can get 6 files for jigsaw. Author’s tests showed that home-made nail files cope with the tasks no worse than factory ones.
