Or it can be used to develop your children, to help them learn, or just to draw.
We will need:
1. Wooden frame with glass. In this case, the author uses a frame for photographs.
2. Universal liquid soil.
3. Matte acrylic paints in white and black.
4. Brushes for applying soil and paints.
5. A small piece of soap or candle.
6. Emery paper fine-grained and coarse-grained.
7. Varnish acrylic transparent opaque for wooden surfaces.
8. A few spoons of dry mortar for grouting (building mortar).
9. Glass cleaner with alcohol content.
10. Old newspapers.
1 step.
At the beginning of the process, carefully disassemble the frame for the photo into its components.
2 step.
We will process the wooden frame with sandpaper, first coarse-grained, and then fine. In this case, the frame should be completely smooth, without roughness and roughness.

Then we cover the prepared frame with a layer of soil. Let the frame dry for several hours.
4 step.
After the soil has completely dried, cover the frame with black matte acrylic paint. Dry the product again.

According to the author’s idea, the frame should have an aged look, to bring this idea to life we take a piece of candle or soap and rub all the convex and butt ends of the frame. That is, we put a candle or soap where we would like to see small scuffs.
6 step.
Then we cover the frame with white matte acrylic paint in several layers, not forgetting to dry the frame well after each applied paint coat. The author uses matte paints only because he wants to eventually see an artificially aged thing, and since the frame supposedly passed through years and trials, the paint on it should lose its luster and gloss. If you do not have a goal to achieve a similar effect, then you can use acrylic glossy paints.
7 step.
When our frame is completely dry, take sandpaper and process the places where you rubbed it with a candle (or soap) before. You will get nice cracks and scuffs that will give the product an aged look.And the layer of candles that you previously applied will make it easy to remove the top layer of white paint, but at the same time it will not damage the bottom layer of black paint.
8 step.
Now we will cover our artificially aged frame with acrylic varnish with several layers. Again, do not forget to carefully dry the frame after each applied varnish layer and do not forget to varnish the back side - the product should have a beautiful and finished look everywhere. So, the frame for the slate is ready.
9 step.
Now carefully wipe the glass from the frame with window cleaning fluid using old newspapers. This will not only clean the glass, but also help degrease it.
10 step.
On the fat-free glass in this way, we apply the soil. Let's dry it.
11 step.
We mix two tablespoons of black paint and a spoonful of grout mixture and mix very well so there are no lumps.
12 step.
The resulting mixture is applied to primed glass in 3-4 layers, each layer is dried for several hours. Then we remove the glass thus treated for two days for final drying.
13 step.
While our glass dries, paint the cardboard insert from the frame with black acrylic paint and dry it.
14 step.
After two days, we assemble our frame of components and get a slate board on which you can safely write notes and wishes with ordinary school chalk. You can erase chalk from such a board with a damp sponge. Children will be delighted!
