The principle of operation of such a gear is similar to the usual “shovel”, and such a gear can also be called a “combine”, “bomb”, “nipple”, “satellite”, “cork”. There are many other names, everything here depends on the specific region of the country. The principle of operation of the gear is very simple. Bait is stuffed into the cork and hooks are hiding here. When the feeder is at the bottom, the fish comes up to it and begins to suck in the feed, as a result of which hooks also fall into its mouth. There is no need to wait for the moment when you need to hook, as the fish is hooked on its own. When the bite alarm is triggered, it only remains to start to prey on the prey.
“Cork” is intended for catching mainly large fish, such as carp, bream, large roach, rudd. However, you can adapt to catching smaller fish by experimenting with the size of the hooks and the diameter of the fishing line.
According to the author, this tackle is very effective and allows you to be with fish even on those days when most fishermen do not bite. According to him, the bites begin to follow in almost a couple of minutes. Of course, a lot also depends on the place of fishing.
Tools and materials for manufacturing:
- 1 aluminum and 1 PET cork from the bottle;
- lead;
- fishing line for creating leashes and hooks (4-10 number according to the old standard);
- kapron thread and retainer for attaching leashes;
- a piece of copper wire;
- awl, scissors;
- bait (if already fishing).
We pass to the manufacturing process
Step 1. Create a sinker
You need to take an aluminum cork and use the awl to pierce two holes in it as in the picture, exactly the same holes must be made in the PET cork. Then a copper wire is inserted into the aluminum plug; it will connect the two plugs together. Then you need to melt the lead or tin and pour the metal into the aluminum cork so that it does not reach the upper turn of the cork. If the plug from Baltika No. 3 is used, the PET plug will be able to enter its upper turn and the design will be of better quality.
Step 2. Assembling the design
Next, the PET plug must be put on the wire and fixed by twisting the wire several times. The excess part can be cut off.
At the same stage, leashes with hooks are installed. In the case of the plastic cork, you need to make a small hole and pass a 20 cm long leash through it, which must be secured through the carabiner to the main fishing line.At the other end of the leash, two short leashes are installed, these are leashes 2-3 cm long, and hooks are attached to them. In this case, there are two hooks.
Step 3. Prepare casting gear
Before sending the tackle to the bottom, you need to put bait in it and correctly install the hooks. As feed, the author uses the usual bait for fishing carp or bream, which can be bought at a fishing store. And in an even more conservative version, bait can be prepared by yourself.
The most important requirement for bait is its consistency. It should be like plasticine, this allows it not to crumble during casting. Hooks are installed on top, as indicated in the picture.
If you want to increase the efficiency of your gear, you can put maggots or pickled corn on the hooks.
A distinctive feature of such a “crown” is that when biting, the fish practically does not drag the feeder. All this happens because the leash is not tied to the feeder, but simply passes through it and is attached to the main fishing line.
Another advantage of the “cork” is that it can be used over long distances, it is about 100-120 meters. In this regard, it is possible to fish directly from the boat.
