How to make a modular aquarium

With your own hands you can make a modular aquarium, which will look very original! Such a system to the author crafts helped to separate fish and other marine life from each other. But the advantages of such an aquarium did not end there. Simple equipment allows you to grow small plants without worrying about watering, and the filter system provides the aquarium with water and oxygen.

We will need:
- boards made of pine (thickness 3 mm);
- tubular profile (12 pieces, length - 35 cm, square section 2.5 cm);
- tubular profile (6 pieces, length 29 cm, square section 2.5 cm);
- glass 6 mm;
- 2 meters of cable;
- glue for hard materials;
- clamps, connector, switch for the lamp;
- varnish on wood;
- fiber filter for aquariums;
- lamp from LEDs;
- filter, pump;
- perlite;
- fiber filter for aquariums;
- directly marine inhabitants and plants.

Step 1
So, first, the author of the pipes (35 cm long) made hexagons. I connected them, welded together all the details.

Step 2

Using shorter pipes, you need to combine two hexagons with each other. Weld the pipes, placing them exactly at the tops of the figures. It turns out the frame itself for the future aquarium. Believe me, it is very durable, able to withstand loads of up to 300 kg. As you understand, the load is redistributed if several such modules are installed. Consequently, the overall strength of the entire aquarium will increase.

Step 3

Paste the frame around the perimeter with pine boards. The dimensions of the sheet should be 35x29 centimeters. Lubricate them on the sides with glue, fasten to the frame with clamps. The glue must firmly set. If the glue dries quickly, then a couple of hours will be enough, but if not, leave the aquarium to dry for a day.

Step 4

Lock the pin on the inside of the module in its upper part. Run the wires on one side, then tie into the cable, isolate. In the diagram you can see how to connect the plug and switch.

Be sure to check the lighting! Only then cover this part with boards and varnish to protect the structure from moisture and wear (a completely natural process that cannot be avoided).

Step 5
Further, the author of this complex craft built an aquarium from glass at the bottom of the hexagon. Glue the parts with silicone. Wait for the materials to dry, then draw water into the aquarium, leave it like this for a day to check the craft for water leakage.

Step 6

Further, everything is much easier: you need to build a box for plants.In it, cut the connectors for the wires from the pump and filter. Go to the next step right away.

Step 7
Install the equipment you need in the aquarium, launch the marine inhabitants. Send perlite to the box-lid together with the soil mixture, inoculate with your favorite plants.

Step 8
Now it's time to install the modules on top of each other.

The pump picks up water from the aquarium, then it returns the waste through the filter, saturating all the water with oxygen. That's all, the system should work properly if you did everything right. Now you have an original modular aquarium for your fish!
