The chessboard is made of walnut wood in the form of falling steps, which creates a three-dimensional object. Let's try to make it ourselves, and then play chess on it.
Stage 1: Design
Design of this homemade according to the idea, it should be non-standard, but not complicated, so that the game of chess does not change. Many materials were viewed on this idea, but in the end we will create a board from bars of different sizes.
Stage 2: Calculations
We calculate the necessary sizes of a chessboard and prepare the necessary materials for work. Through various calculations, the difference between the levels was found, it is 2.5 cm. The shortest step will be 2.5 cm, and the height of the rest is found by multiplying the found difference by the numbers from a special table, which is indicated in the photo, as well as the number of blocks the same length.

Stage 3: Cut the blocks
So, we cut the board two centimeters thick, cut it into strips 2 cm wide. Glue cubes with sides of 4 cm x 4 cm from these strips. Let the blanks dry, and cut into sizes.
Stage 4: We form levels
First we figure out how our model, and then just glue the blocks together.
Stage 5: Finishing Up
We make black cells with a blowtorch, namely, we burn out the necessary protrusions, and glue them to the end. We have a 3D model of a chessboard.
