The author offers his own version highchair:
The construction is solid, made of oak planks.
So for making stools you must have:
- boards made of oak or other wood;
- wooden slats 0 and 20;
- mounting dowels 5 and 8 mm;
- PVA glue or other suitable for wood;
- self-tapping screws;
- varnish - open the surface;
- tools - saw, planer, hammer;
- sandpaper.
Oak boards need to be sawed with a circular or band saw. Align and shape using a planer. We make the markup and saw out the blanks. We attach dowels. Then everything must be connected with glue. The hind legs are shorter, the front legs are longer (the armrests will rest on them). Additional fastenings are glued under the connected strips - for greater strength. So, the "skeleton" of the stool is ready:
The next step is to assemble a seat from several short lamellas. Then, at a slight angle to the rear legs, the backrest is attached. It consists of two slats, the same as for the legs of the chair, only short. The backrest is mounted on the hind legs with dowels. A wide short bar is inserted between them. When the backrest is ready, armrests are added between its supports and front legs.
The author reinforced the assembled highchair at the connection points for other reliability with self-tapping screws. Well sanding irregularities and burrs with sandpaper. The product is varnished, transparent or colored. It will take two or three layers. Let it dry - done! Now the baby can eat at the common table "as an adult" and be proud of the skillful parents!
