Every music lover listening to it through headphones has repeatedly encountered the problem of their sudden breakdown. And each such amateur will confirm that most breakdowns occur as a result of breaking the headphone wire near the plug. How to solve this problem? Throw away your headphones and buy new ones? Do not rush to throw away your headphones, because in just half an hour of time you can breathe a “second" life into them. And now we will discuss how to do it.
To fix the malfunctioning headphones, we need: the headphones themselves, a soldering iron, a clerical or any other sharpened knife, pliers, and some other auxiliary materials, the need for which depends on the method of fixing the headphones.
So, everything is prepared and laid out before you - what is the next step? Next, decide whether you will replace the plug. There are two options - either leave the old, "native", or buy a new one at any radio equipment and radio components store. However, often, buying a new headphone plug brings more disappointment than good - such a plug refuses to enter the jack of the player or phone, it is complicated and inconvenient to work when fixing the headphones and is short-lived. Therefore, we offer an original headphone repair option, in which we leave the old plug.
Where to begin? First, gently cut the braid of the old headphone plug along and remove it. Inside we will see soldered headphone wiring, bathed in special resin.
We remember the location and sequence of the soldered wires, after which we carefully clean the plug from the embedded resin and wires. Little secret: if you still forgot the correct wiring arrangement, it doesn’t matter - you can easily find the basic layout of the wires in the headphones on the Internet.
Next, pick up the usual needle from the syringe, carefully remove the needle from the plastic socket and expand the hole with the nail in which it was. The diameter of the hole we need should match the diameter of the wire of our headphones.
Next, we pass the wire from the headphones into the resulting hole and solder the wires to the headphone plug in the same sequence as they were previously soldered. After the wires are soldered, it is necessary to check the quality of the solder and the integrity of the wires. To do this, you need to check the headphones on the phone or player, after listening to several songs, and make several movements, bending and unbending the headphones at the plug. This check will help us avoid the consequences of poor-quality soldering and also determine if there is another fracture in the headphone wire above the soldering point. If the soldering was successful, and no defects were found, go to the next step.
Carefully lower the cap from the needle onto the plug so that it completely covers the plug and fill the plug contacts with soldered wires inside the cap with glue. Perform this action carefully, making sure that no voids and bubbles form inside the cap, which in the future can negatively affect the operation of the headphones and ruin their appearance.
Let the glue poured into the inside dry and ready, the headphones are like new and you can use them again, enjoying listening to your favorite music.
