Chaise lounge - do it yourself

Probably everyone who has his own country house or private house will want to relax in his yard in the summer or spring. This will help country chaise lounge (sunbed), resting on which you can relax a tired body after garden work or get a golden tan under a warm sun. The design of the lounger allows you to comfortably sit half-sitting or reclining. Such a chaise lounge can be useful as a guest bed, you only need to cover it with a bed.

The author suggests making such sunbed on your own, model simple, does not require special skills in its manufacture.
We will make a plank bed of wood, it is durable, hardy and natural. Such a country sunbed is quite simple to move. You can store it by simply placing it against the wall of a house or a barn in an upright position.

So, let's cook necessary materials:
- wooden boards 400x2.5 × 8 centimeters - 4 pcs.;
- wooden blocks 400x5x10 centimeters - 3 pcs.;
- mounting studs - 2 pcs.;
- putty on wood for grouting;
- varnish or paint for the treatment of sunbed.

To make a summer chaise lounge, we need such set of tools:
- saw (hacksaw);
- jigsaw;
- drill;
- a screwdriver or a curly screwdriver;
- square, tape measure, marker, sandpaper.
First of all, you need to make a solid sunbed frame. For such a frame, four parts are cut out of timber - two long longitudinal ones of 215 centimeters and two short transverse ones of 50 centimeters.

Next, we assemble the seat - we cut the board into uniform bars 60 centimeters long, they will need 13 in total. The chopped bars are screwed to the frame with self-tapping screws, we leave 1 centimeter intervals between the segments. All subsequent parts are also fastened with self-tapping screws.
Also from the bars we produce legs for a country chaise lounge. Single legs with a length of 35 centimeters are fixed at the head, double legs for greater reliability in the legs.

After that, we make a frame for the back of the product - we twist the frame from two bars of 88 centimeters and three of 39 centimeters each. The frame should go into the basic construction of the sunbed with small gaps.On the frame for the backrest we fix the boards perpendicular to the seat boards, round off the ends for aesthetics with an electric jigsaw.

At the base of the sunbed, we drill through holes at a distance of 9 centimeters from the edge of the seat, we attach the back structure to the base of the deck chair. The backrest is fixed to the frame on both sides by studs, it should freely rise and fall.

In the frame of the sunbed under the back, from two sides it is necessary to cut 2 grooves into which the supporting bars will be inserted. The back will take two different positions. The first pair of grooves of 5x10 cm is cut each 9 centimeters from the hairpin. We make the second pair of grooves of 5x5 centimeters at a distance of 20 centimeters from the first.

Now, to change the position of the back, you need to use a support beam 60 cm long. The beam is initially inserted horizontally into the first groove. In order to make the reclining position, the beam is taken out from there and inserted vertically into the second groove.

Now we skin the entire surface of the deck chair so that there are no bumps and nicks. We process the joints with putty on wood, open with varnish or paint. The country chaise lounge is ready, go to bed and enjoy!
