Wild stone is a popular facing material that is successfully used for decorating facades, socles, cladding of walls and floors in urban apartments (most often kitchen surfaces and walls in the hallway), and for decorating fireplaces and decorative stoves. This material looks stylish in any interior. Natural wild stone is not cheap. Decorative artificial stone is even more expensive. But you can always find a way out, as an author homemade.

To do this, you will need:
Glue for a tile a lithokol (white),
mineral pigment (different colors),
salt (sea, large)
laminated hardboard
dense plastic film,
metal pipe (rolling pin).
1. Preparation of raw materials
Stir the glue with water to a very thick consistency. Divide into 3 approximately equal parts.
Add red pigment to one serving and black pigment to the other. Mix thoroughly until the glue is uniformly colored.
2. The process of work
In a chaotic manner (turn on fantasy), distribute the mixture on a piece of hardboard.
Then cover this work with a piece of dense plastic film and use a rolling pin to roll the mass to the required thickness (on average about 55 mm).
To prevent the texture of the stone from being dull-smooth, use salt. With its help, you can give the product an interesting texture that is close to natural. Salt can be used and large table, but preferably sea salt, its crystals are larger, leave more expressive traces.
Sprinkle the salt randomly on the prepared mass. Cover with foil again and lightly walk with a rolling pin to press in salt.
3. Product forming
In order to form tiles, which you will subsequently use for facing work, you can use the usual metal ruler. The advantage of using the ruler is that with its help it is convenient to form pieces of any shape and size. Just measure the size you need and push it well along the marked lines. The downside is that it is quite a long time.
The author decided not to waste time in vain and made himself an assistant - a kind of molding machine that allows you to stamp a large number of tiles at once.
With such equipment, the products are completely even, and there is no need to worry about the unevenly rolled mass. After molding with such a press, each tile has the same thickness. After molding, the excess solution can be carefully collected and added to the next batch of raw materials. Remove the film.
4. Final processing
After the mass has dried, remove the tiles from the work surface. You can simply bend the hardboard and the plates themselves will separate and lag behind.
Then rinse the tiles with hot water in order to dissolve and wash the salt. Wild stone is ready.
As a material, you can use not only glue, but also tile grout and even white cement, just add a small amount of plasticizer to it. You can try to make different textures: sprinkle more salt, or less, crush the salt with plasticine, then rinse with water. In order that the resulting tile does not look like muddy cement shards, they can be varnished, the more layers, the more beautiful the product turns out, the more it resembles a natural stone.
Calculation of the mixture for the manufacture of wild stone. The author of two kilograms of dry mix turned out 17 pieces with a size of 215 * 55 mm, a thickness of 5 mm. With an increase of 5 mm per seam, 80 tiles per square meter are obtained. Approximately 8 kg of tile adhesive should be used to make this amount.
