Here is such an unusual and custom design all-terrain vehicle created by ChipaLensk. As you can see in the photo, the all-terrain vehicle is quite large, assembled on the basis of the GAZ-66, while the steering cabin is modeled from the front half of the standard NIVA.
The main spare parts that were used in the construction of this giant:
1) As already mentioned, the basis of the all-terrain vehicle is gas-66, which means that a frame and bridges are taken from it.
2) The internal combustion engine was borrowed from the Nissan Atlas, the working name of the QD32 engine.
3) Also from Nissan was taken and gearbox.
4) The steering column was supplied from the same Gas-66 (more precisely, a mixture was delivered from Kazakhstan from Nissan and from gas -66)
5) T-150 wheels were used, the author took everything to the maximum!
6) Used part of the body of the Niva, as the cabin of the future all-terrain vehicle.
Here is a front view of the car:
Agree pretty impressive?
And this is the side view of the all-terrain vehicle during the construction process:
To begin with briefly about what has been done.
Based on the gas-66 springs were eased. Also, the brakes were replaced: the old ones were thrown out, their assembly disk was put in their place, as well as the caliper from the classic Lada. Then they installed the Niva case in the form of a cabin for an all-terrain vehicle, and the wheels of the T-150 were delivered.
Well, let us dwell in more detail on the stages of assembly and consider them in more detail.
The springs were facilitated due to the fact that some of the sheets were removed. To be more precise, two sheets were dismantled at the front, and three at the back.
Of course, this can affect reliability, that is, the S-grade of the bridge may appear, and this in turn will give an increased load on the crosses and cardan. But everything was successful in the tests, and so far there have been no complaints. Otherwise, the seized sheets will be added back.
Well, with the springs I think everything is clear, now consider the engine:
So such an internal combustion engine was installed: in-line four-cylinder diesel, its volume is three and two tenths of a liter, atmospheric, 110 hp Injection pump simple without electronics.
As for the gaz-66 transfer case, it did not prove itself to be on the best side of reliability, it would be nice to use the ZIL 157 (they are perfectly compatible), but unfortunately it was not available.
It was also shifted back by 20 centimeters PK66 traverse, and the rear propeller shaft was shortened. The front one came from the old groove. Work with the traverse was necessary for the reason that the "monoblock" from Nissan is too long.
Brackets for installing the engine were also made.
This photograph just shows the rear mounting point of the RK from Nissan.
And the intermediate cardan fit perfectly with the ZIL 157, even without interference with its design.
And here you can see the steering also from ZiLka, though in this case I had to slightly shorten the bipod. The thrust from Gaza-66, respectively, was also shortened:
We should also consider the way of fastening the Niva body to the frame from gas-66:
Its mount is located at three different points. It was placed on the front side by side members under the frame, engine mountings from Niva were placed and drilled through, M12 bolts were used. At the back, one support fell on the PK66 beam, one located in the middle.
I would also like to explain about the brakes. or rather, their work on this unit. There, unfortunately, there were problems, possibly related to the plug of the rear circuit (maybe there is air not pumped there), the brake fluid in it does not allow the piston of the front circuit to move. And this can affect the loads of the front and rear axles depending on the movement. For this reason, it was decided to make a drive to the front axle, this will enable the muffled circuit.
As for the brake circuit, it looks something like this:
But the thrust with the spool and the cylinder from gas-66:
The finished version of the heavy all-terrain vehicle looks like this:
They also put a winch, so that was! The winch is like this:
In conclusion, I would like to add that, despite its low power, the engine is very pleased with its low fuel consumption, although it does not have enough traction on the mountain road.
