How to properly insulate the walls of the house

Have you noticed for a long time that it is unimaginably cold in your house in winter? The cost of heating it in the winter is growing every year and threatening to become more than your income? No worries! The time has come to solve this problem once and for all.

To finally bring the long-awaited heat to your home, we recommend that you carry out its external insulation, after which you can forget about the cold forever. Before performing insulation, it is necessary to determine what kind of its type is needed specifically for your home. The fact is that depending on the material from which your house is built, the technology of insulation also changes.

This article will consider the options for warming houses from logs, beams and bricks. So if you are the owner of such a house, then it will be useful for you.

So, a log house. For its insulation, the optimal solution would be to use a special “breathing” facade system. The air gap between the wall of the house and the insulation will allow air to circulate inside, and in addition, the air itself will play the role of an additional heat insulator.

The first step in warming the house will be the treatment of the walls of the house with special antiseptics and fire fighting agents. Next, seal all openings between the logs using ordinary mounting foam or silicone sealant.

Next, a crate is installed on the treated walls. This is done as follows: vertical wooden bars are mounted on the wall using nails or self-tapping screws with an installation step of not more than fifty centimeters.

Having installed the crate, you can proceed with the installation of steam and waterproofing, insulation. The vapor barrier material is attached first, after - a heater is installed, which is mounted on the wall with dowels. What is best to use as a heater? We recommend using rolled mineral wool or glass wool for these purposes. Note that when installing the insulation, do not press the insulation with the dowels to the wall very strongly, as this can violate its integrity.

Now it's time to install waterproofing over the insulation. It is attached using a stapler, and is very easy to use. Thanks to the installation of waterproofing, our insulation will be protected from moisture, which will favorably affect the life and quality of its service.

And finally, the last stage in the insulation of the house is the installation of external cladding. As a rule, the installation of the cladding is done from lining, siding made of plastic or facade panels. Please note that when installing the cladding, leave a gap of a width of the order of two to three centimeters between the cladding itself and the waterproofing.

If you are the owner of a country house made of timber, then the entire procedure for warming the house described above is suitable for you, taking into account a small feature: since the surface of the house made of timber is flat, unlike the surface of the house made of logs, then you can use not only rolled insulation for its insulation , but also insulation in the plates. In all other respects, the order of home insulation is maintained.
How to properly insulate the walls of the house

For owners of brick or cinder block houses there are more options for insulation, and below we will discuss the main ones. What are these options?
The first method is similar to the one we described earlier, however, when creating a ventilated insulation system, in addition to mineral wool or glass wool plates, foam can also be used, which is attached to the wall with dowels or glue. In this case, the lathing can be performed not only from wooden beams, but also from a metal profile. In all other respects, the insulation procedure is the same.

Another method that we have not yet discussed is called the "easy wet method of warming." Its essence is as follows: various components of the insulation are applied to the prepared and cleaned wall of the house, which form a multilayer facade insulation. For insulation with this method, as a rule, foam insulation and special types of mineral wool intended for plaster are used as insulation. Such a heater is literally glued to the walls of the house and strengthened for reliability with plastic dowels. Next, a special grid for plaster is applied to it, and layers of plaster, start and finish, are applied. After the plaster has dried, the surface of the walls is painted with facade paint. Please note that this method of warming is not acceptable for warming wooden houses, since the wooden walls of the house under the layers of plaster will not be able to "breathe", which means that the decay and debate of such walls are inevitable.

So we sorted out the main methods of wall insulation, which means - to the cause!
