Making a microphone from a matchbox and pencils

This article will provide an overview of the video on the manufacture of a microphone from a matchbox and several pencils.

Let's start by watching the author’s video

For work, we need:
- Matchbox;
- pencils;
- rechargeable battery;
- wires;
- headphones to listen to the sound.

Empty the entire matchbox.

Next, we make four holes in it - two in two in the narrow parts of the inner part of the box.

Now you need to take a pencil and pull out the stylus from it. According to the author of the idea, it is very difficult to do this with a knife or other element. It is better to burn a pencil and remove the lead without any difficulty. Note that you should not burn a pencil in unventilated rooms.

The stylus must be divided in half.

Next, you need to slightly process the top layer. An office knife can help here.

We put the halves of the stylus into the holes made.

We also take a small piece of stylus, which must be placed perpendicular to two, not forgetting to sharpen it slightly.

Power can be connected using crocodiles. We connect plus crowns to one half of the stylus.

Next, we take another crocodile and connect the batteries to the negative. The second end of the crocodile is connected to the bottom of the 3.5 mm audio plug.

We take the third crocodile and fasten it to the tip of the plug. The second end of the same crocodile is attached to the remaining lead.

Our microphone is ready.

According to the author, this idea underlies the manufacture of very high-quality microphones, in which other materials are used as a membrane instead of a matchbox.

Well, yes ... If we assume some kind of emergency - it is better to teach Morse and broadcast interference)
Wait, but how does that piece of lead not fall across? If it is fixed with tape or glue, the sound effect will suffer. I was interested to read about a homemade microphone. In childhood, we had matchboxes connected by an ordinary thread, and we even managed to hear something. And here the craft is more interesting, albeit just for fun.
Normal closure. Not interested.
A “match” microphone can only be considered as a funny technical curiosity and nothing more. And the main drawback of the device is its separate battery power - the Krona is not cheap ...
I can’t even imagine why such a microphone might be needed. Do only if for fun. It is impossible and inconvenient to use it, the sound quality is heard on the video. The idea is interesting, but useless.
