If you still do not have a fence in your summer cottage or in the yard, or it has already disintegrated, we suggest you make a new wicker fence that will cost you a penny, but it will delight the eye and be different from others. After all, this kind of fence resembles a peasant life, where there are always forks or stags at the wattle fence, and sunflowers or roses bloom nearby.
In order to make such a fence you must go to the forest. No, not for snowdrops, but for the material. You need to find a young shoot of aspen, willow, hazel or other trees. Try to pick up the rods so that they are as even as possible and, of course, flexible. Then cut off all the necessary material at an angle and collect in bundles. Pick up as many rods as you need to protect the area you need.
So, to build the fence itself, you will need to prepare pegs (maple or hazel is best). Determine the length of the pegs yourself, but keep in mind that 50 centimeters of their length will go underground. Mark the part that you will bury in the ground, then sand it and be sure to treat it with an antiseptic. You can, as an option, carbonize at the stake.
Now along the entire line of the fence pull a tight rope and nail all the prepared pegs. The thickness of each should be about 4-5 cm. Drive in pegs at a distance from each other no less than 40 cm. You also need to nail two pegs next to each other at the beginning and at the end of your future fence. This is necessary in order to bring the ends of the rod between them, thereby you just fix it.
When you install all the rods, start slowly braiding them from top to bottom, while bending around the vine as if by the “eight” alternating from front to back. If, for example, your rod ended on the fifth peg, then start the next with the fourth peg.
In addition to this type of weaving, you can try horizontal weaving. It is done like this: pegs driven into the ground are braided in bunches of thin long branches. This kind of weaving is very dense.
Vertical weaving is absolutely opposite to horizontal. Here you first need to attach thick poles to horizontal pegs, and thin rods (respectively vertically) be woven between them.
