Homemade dart dart

Hello, today I will show you a great idea on how to make a dart for darts do it yourself. Such a dart is not difficult to manufacture and you can make it from improvised materials that are available in every home.

Necessary materials and tools:
- thick cardboard
- a nail
- threads
- glue
- scissors
- nippers
- toothpicks
- adhesive tape

Step 1: First of all, take a nail and bite off the nail head with pliers. On a grinder, you need to sharpen the nail a bit so that our dart sticks into our target better.

Step 2: Then we take 4 toothpicks and with the help of threads we fix them to the nail, as shown in the photo.

Step 3: To prevent the threads from spreading, you need to impregnate them with glue, I used PVA.

Step 4: Next, we take a dense cardboard and cut out a square measuring 80 * 80 mm. Next, we fold our square so that we get such a blank.

Step 5: Next, we need to fold our blank so that we get an asterisk with four ends. The edges of the stars need to be glued with tape.

Step 6: Next, insert the toothpicks into the sprocket.

And now our dart is ready!

And in childhood, of course, we did not know what darts were)))). But such a craftsmanship. Only, much less - from an ordinary needle and four matches wrapped in thread. It turned out very light, and stuck in everything. Even in the plastered wall, while, what is important, without leaving visible traces (otherwise it could fly into!))))). Well, more “serious” darts were made according to the same pattern, only from a pencil and a bicycle spoke. A piece of knitting needle flattened on one side with a hammer, after which, sharpened to incredible sharpness. The pencil was split into four "segments, a needle was inserted instead of a stylus, a stabilizer was made from a postcard and .... (the most difficult !!!!!) it was necessary to get an electrical tape somewhere to wind it all !!!! It was difficult. Therefore, more often they simply wrapped them with copper wiring - there is a lot of that kind of different thickness and color everywhere !!!)))))
Surprisingly simple work, and done honestly. The author has shown his creative potential, because not everyone will guess from such improvised things that sometimes just lie around idle, such a quality dart. It will not fall apart after the first throw, but will last a long time.
I absolutely agree that accuracy is extremely important in this game, but if you make the whole set yourself, the darts will not differ and you can quickly get used to their weight. Well, for serious competitions, athletes do not make darts in this way. Thanks to the author for an idea that can diversify outdoor recreation)
It can be seen that the shell is simple to manufacture. But you can also see from the photo that the cardboard skirt is inaccurately glued. In this game, accuracy is important, which means a projectile with a verified center of gravity, rather than attached toothpicks and cardboard around the nail. Of course, in the clearing, on vacation, the adults will frolic, but hardly for a more serious competition.
Wow children's craft with a carnation. Yes, it’s somewhat dangerous to make such darts and have fun with them. But in skillful and reliable hands, a dart will never become a weapon, but will only be an object of entertainment. The technology for making the crafts turned out to be so simple that even I wanted to make it. And most importantly, such a dart can be made very quickly.
Cheap and cheerful. smile
Materials are available for everyone, plus the structure of the homemade product is not particularly difficult,
I agree with avlk11 that replacing the plumage from cardboard to thin plastic will help to establish a more even flight path.
This article is useful if you have time and money for the darts.
Thank you, I really liked the idea! Especially since not the playing field, but just these darts are always lost somewhere, but shops, but you just can’t buy them separately, and thanks to such tips, you can easily complete the missing ones!
As for children, in my opinion Darts is not quite the game)) Although, as anyone wants. We remember, for security reasons, we cut the paste of a ballpoint pen and made a protective nozzle so as not to damage anything or anyone) And you can take a cardon multi-colored, so I think it will be more fun, everyone has their own color!)
I remember in my childhood I made such darts. Now of course the variety is much greater. Darts are no longer a rarity in any children's store. True, instead of cardboard we used plywood, although sometimes we also used chipboard. In general, it turned out pretty well, and the dart flew far enough. And instead of PVA glue, silicate was used. In general, there are many ways.
Almost every boy used such darts in his childhood. Only the best specimens were obtained not from a nail, but from a thin broken drill of the appropriate length. The drill has good steel, does not need frequent sharpening and is perfectly straightforward. Plumage is preferable from thin plastic.
I remember making darts like this at school, for this we used matches and the usual "gypsy" needle, if there were no "gypsy" then we took the usual one, larger in size. The dart turns out easy, but it does not fly badly. It easily hits a target, if you adapt, it turns out to hit the desired target. The dart feather was painted with colored markers under the flags of the countries.
Yes, quit. No more dangerous than ordinary store darts, which also do not come with warranties. I really liked the idea, because for some reason darts are constantly lost and broken. The children just dug up the old darts in the country, dropped the link for their son, let them build 6 pieces by the weekend.True, we do not have a grinding machine, but the nails are sharp.
Without strict safety precautions, such a “projectile” is very dangerous. And it’s better for children not to show it at all.
