The summer is in the yard, and often while working in front of the computer there is not enough coolness. What if there is no way to purchase an expensive air conditioner? A good solution is a portable USB fan, which will be an excellent replacement for traditional systems.
Let's start by watching the author’s video
So we need:
- 5 volt motor;
- Charger from a mobile phone;
- USB cable;
- potentiometer for 5 KOhm;
- transistor 2n2222;
- 1 kΩ resistor;
- Arduino Pro mini
- servo SG90;
- USB adapter to TTI;
- 500 ohm resistor;
- plastic box;
- a piece of board;
- plastic for the manufacture of blades;
- cork from a plastic bottle.
The engine can be taken from an old CD-drive, as the author of the idea did. You also need to trim one end of the USB cable first, leaving the connector on the other end. Note that the adapter is needed to flash the Arduino Pro mini board. During the preparatory work on the 13th leg of the board microcircuit, you need to solder a 500 ohm resistor
Let's start with the fan. To do this, we take plastic and cut out the blades of a triangular shape.
Next, we make corner cuts on the side of the cap from the plastic bottle and install the cut out blades in these cuts, fixing with hot glue.
We take another lid and bury the structure.
Glue the lid with blades to the motor.
At this stage, the simplest version of the future fan is ready. You can connect the wires of the USB cable to the motor and check the operation. Note that we will use red and black wires, so the other two can be cut off if desired. Such a fan can be easily used if there is no board or other components at hand.
Next, program the board.
We connect the adapter to the board according to the scheme that we present below.
We collect all the elements together according to the following scheme.
We place all the fan components in the box, not forgetting to make the necessary holes.
The fan is ready. It remains to connect it to a power source and enjoy the flow of cool air.
