If the nearest pond is located several kilometers away, and you spend a lot of time in the country, your own pool will be very welcome. You can get basic information about its construction in this article.
The pool at the cottage is the only opportunity to freshen up on a hot day if the natural pond is too far away. Especially since on his construction it will not take too much effort and money.
There are several options for country pools. So, inflatable pools will not require any installation work at all, but this option is suitable only for children, and you will have to clean it whenever you intend to leave the site.
The best option is portable plastic pools. They are already ready for installation, and all that is required of you is to build a box of brick, in which the pool will be placed. It will not be necessary to clean it somewhere every time (and this is impossible), it is only enough to dismantle it for the winter, if, of course, a desire arises.
If you prefer larger pools, a stationary option is a good option. You can finish it with any material (tile or PVC film) - there is nothing complicated in this, we’ll talk about the construction of the pool preceding this stage.
There is a relatively simple way to build a pool with vertical walls. Its construction takes place in several stages:
- We dig a trench around the perimeter of the future pool to the desired depth;
- Fill the trench with concrete, be sure to reinforce it (as in the case of the strip foundation) and let dry;
- Dig a hole to a depth of concrete (you can even leave a little “wall” underground) - as a result, a pool bowl with almost ready walls should come out; soil will have to be removed or used for other works (in the first case, take care of the car for removal);
- Fill the floor of the bowl with concrete. It is best if it is monolithic - flooded once. Do not forget about the fittings and drainage, if the site is rich in groundwater.
We make the floor slightly tilted. 5-6 degrees will be more than enough.The slope will allow water to exit through the drain hole, which is best foreseen in advance (if you are designing a pipeline).
Floor filling - the most important stage. The concrete will dry for a month, and at this time it is sometimes necessary to water it so that the surface does not crack, as it hardens the fastest.
After the concrete has dried, you need to plaster the pool walls with special material. There are latex-based plasters that make the walls waterproof.
Final wall and floor decoration The pool is more simple. For her, you can choose plastic panels, traditional tiles or even PVC film. The tile is laid as usual, but a little more distance is left between its individual elements.
Take care in advance of how exactly you will fill and empty the pool. In the cheapest version of the pool, you will have to use a household pump and a hose through which you can pour tap water into the pool.
In expensive versions, the tank is filled and emptied using a pipeline system, which, however, is easier to not use at all in the country.
