Car pick-up mechanism (device for a monitor or tablet)


For the convenience of using a monitor or tablet in a car, we will manufacture a strong and reliable receiving and feeding mechanism. With this device, your device will always be in a safe place and at any time you can quickly use it in a convenient fastener.



The components we need:

Rail.

Spur gear.
Car pick-up mechanism (device for a monitor or tablet)

Bevel gears.

Servo SM-S4315R to move the carriage horizontally.

Servo SM-S8166M for lifting the monitor.

Linear bearings MGN 15.

Radial bearings 6 x 10 x 3 mm.

Controller Arduino Nano 595886.

Power Converters DC_DC.

Limit switches.

Threaded lock.

Glue.


All structural elements are made using an aluminum profile.

First of all, we will make a metal base for our mechanism.

The dimensions of the structural parts must be commensurate and very accurate, tenths and hundredths of millimeters are not so important, the main thing is to observe the size in millimeters and all angles are exactly 90 degrees.

In the manufacture of the basis of the mechanism, we will use traction rivets.

We install the bevel gear onto a large servo using a threaded lock.

Next, we make the carriage.

When mounting linear bearings, using rivet nuts, we also use a threaded lock.

We use an aluminum corner with a thickness of 3 mm, the whole load will fall on it.

Mark the location of the large servo and side brackets.

For the manufacture of side brackets, a profile pipe of 30 x 15 x 1.5 mm and a square of 12 x 12 mm are required.
We place the square inside the pipe and fix it with screws.

We use only material with the observance of GOST (s), in this case all sizes will coincide exactly (inner pipe size and outer square).

We make holes for miniature radial bearings. Take the following bearing sizes: 6 x 10 x 3 mm.

Attention! First, drill a hole with a diameter of 6 mm and a depth not exceeding 10 mm.Next, increase the hole diameter to 10 mm and a depth not exceeding 5 mm. In the resulting recess with a diameter of 6 mm, we place the ball from the bearing 5 mm, and then the radial bearing, in order to avoid wedging of the axis.

We make a platform for the location of the monitor.

The “legs” are made according to the above method (a square in the pipe, you can see in the photo), they need to be glued and screwed on (the connection must be reliable). The axis is brass with a diameter of 6 mm.

Putting the next node.



We close the node with the help of such a detail.

We make this part from corners and a cylindrical pipe.

Glue the corners with glue and fill with epoxy.

After drying, cut off the excess metal, modify it to get what the mothers need.


Try on




Then we make the panel.


We install on the structure electronic stuffing.



We color the elements we need in the right color.





The work is over. The result exceeds all expectations.

Here is an option using wireless recharging
It is difficult to call the motorized receiving and feeding mechanism home-made - the design is made simply masterfully. But is this mechanism really needed in a car? After all, for mounting the tablet in a 2DIN sized socket, a rather simple frame is enough.
p. s. And how does the tablet recharge in the mechanism?
Yes, this is a manufacturing option for making such a mount for devices in a car. The only thing that the author of creative homemade did not foresee was the place on the dashboard and under the dashboard, from where this mechanism would serve, like a fakir, to serve the tablet, because its insert would not be easy.
