We present to your attention a review of a video on the manufacture of an interesting and very useful knife designed for quick cutting of a cake. Such knives are sold in most supermarkets, but they are far from cheap, because they not only allow you to cut a piece of cake, but also transfer it to a plate.
Let's start by watching the author’s video

We will need:
- plexiglass;
- a clamp;
- building hair dryer
The length of the plexiglass strip that the author uses to make the knife is 555 mm, the width is 50 mm, and the thickness is 2-3 mm. The first thing to note is the folds of the plexiglass strip. We put the first mark at a distance of 132 mm from the edge.
The second mark is 27 mm from the first.
The third is 81 mm from the second.
The fourth is 90 mm from the third. The fourth mark will be average, so after it you need to repeat the markup in the reverse order.
We take the strip and put it on the table so that the first mark is on the very edge of the table. It is necessary to properly clamp the plexiglass on the table with a clamp so that it does not move during bending.
Next, take a building hair dryer, heat it up and begin to gradually bend plexiglass at the first mark to get a right angle.
You should pay attention to the temperature of the hairdryer, since when overheated, the plexiglass starts to bubble, which will negatively affect the appearance of the knife. Next, remove the clamp, turn the plexiglass and put the second mark to the edge of the table.
Clamp again, warm up with a building hair dryer and bend.
The same process must be repeated with the rest of the labels in order to get a shape similar to the one shown in the figure below.
The main work has been done. It remains to remove the protective film from plexiglass, thoroughly rinse the knife in warm water and enjoy the result.
To cut the cake, just take the knife, put it on the cake, squeeze it well, hold the handles and move the piece of cake on the plate.
In conclusion, we note that the author of the idea was slightly mistaken with the calculations, and the knife turned out to be a little large, so we advise you to slightly shorten the strip and make the markings smaller.
