Manufacturing process
Step One, create a blank
First, a board is taken and the outline of the future bait is drawn. It is important that the board is well dried. After that, the contour of the fish is cut out, and then the workpiece must be finalized with a knife, giving it the desired shape. Smooth forms of fish are achieved by sanding.
Step Two Creating Movable Parts
To create moving parts, the workpiece must be cut into three parts. First, with a pencil, you need to mark the places of cuts, and then cut the workpiece. After that, sharp edges need to be grinded out with sandpaper and rounded so that parts of the bait have good mobility. Now you need to drill holes to install the connecting screws.
Then you can screw in the connecting screws and assemble the structure.
Step Three Installing rattles and loading bait
Rattles will be an additional factor for attracting a predator. To install rattles in the bait, drill holes of a suitable diameter. Then they are inserted into the holes and sit on the glue.The installation site is puttied and smoothed with sandpaper. After that, the bait can be opened with varnish, since then the fish need to be immersed in water for loading.
A piece of lead is used for loading. To choose the correct position and weight, you need to fix the lead on the bait with a rubber band from money. After conducting several experiments in water and choosing the right weight, a hole for the load should be drilled in the bait. It is also installed on glue, and then the installation site is plastered and processed with sandpaper.
Step Four Creation and installation of fins
Fins are made of plexiglass. To install them in the bait, slots of the appropriate size are made. Fins are glued with epoxy.
Step Five Lure painting
For painting, the bait is completely disassembled into parts, for this the connecting screws are turned out. Before painting, the bait is covered with a primer. Now you need to cut out paper stencils for individual parts of the bait.
After this, the fins are sealed with masking tape and the sides of the fish are painted green, while the closer to the back, the darker the color should be.
At the next stage, the mesh is installed, it is attached using clothespins. Now the fish is painted again, first with white color, and then with silver paint (chrome).
After that, you can mount the stencil, this is done using masking tape. Fins first need to be painted yellow, and then in places go red.
The abdomen is painted with silver paint, the upper with blue mother of pearl, and the back with black. Even black paint can emphasize the eyes and gills.
To create the eye, black and red powder (powder paint) is taken and mixed with epoxy. If you put such paint on paper, a hemisphere forms, it will be the eye. The eye itself turns red and the pupil black.
At the final stage of the assembly, the connecting screws are screwed in, and they must be lubricated with epoxy glue. Now it remains only to install the hooks with the help of the clockwork rings and the bait is ready for testing.
