Any fisherman with a boat must have such a thing as an anchor. To use bricks on a rope or bags with stones to fix the boat is not solid, and the cost of good anchors in the store is quite high. In this regard, it makes sense to make an anchor yourself. However, this method of manufacturing the anchor will not appeal to environmentalists, since the anchor is made of lead, and it is a fairly toxic metal. It is best to replace lead with such an alternative as pure tin.
Several of these anchors will need to be made in order to securely fix the boat while fishing near a lured place. At least there should be two.

Materials and tools:
- lead. It can be removed from old batteries. But it is best to replace lead with pure tin, since lead is harmful to health and the environment;
- steelyard (hand-held scales);
- pan for melting metal;
- a bucket of sand and a stick (for example, a holder from a shovel or rake);
- tea saucer (he will make the shape of the anchor);
- drill with a drill.
Manufacturing process
Step one. Form preparation
As a material for creating the form, the author decided to use wet sand. To do this, a depression is made in the sand with the help of a holder from a shovel or rake. An anchor leg will be cast in this form. To create an anchor hat, you need to take a saucer and use it to squeeze the desired depth shape above the hole. That's all, now you can go to the second step.
Step Two Metal smelting and anchor casting
For melting metal, only steel utensils should be used. The author used an aluminum pan and took great risks. The thing is that aluminum has a low melting point and if the lead, at least a little, would be overheated, the pan could melt, and all the lead would be on the gas stove. And this is not only damage, but also fire and explosion hazard.
When smelting lead or tin, toxic gas is released, so the site of such work should be well ventilated.
After the lead is melted, it can be poured into the mold. In this case, you must be extremely careful, since the form will be wet, and during the pouring out of it hot flows of steam will break out. It is possible that with these flows pieces of liquid metal will fly out. It is necessary to pour metal in goggles and at a good distance from the mold. Fire safety rules should also be followed.
Step Three Finalization
At the final stage, the anchor must be processed on a grinder, and all casting defects must be removed. You can also modify the manufacture with a hammer, lead and tin - very ductile metals.
Now it remains only to take a drill and drill a hole under the rope in the leg of the anchor. The author also drilled several holes in the head of the anchor. In his opinion, the resistance to the flow will fall, and the anchor will lie more reliably at the bottom. But their presence is not necessary.
Also, at the end of the work, the anchor can be painted, for example, in a bright color, this is especially true when using lead, the paint will protect the metal from contact with the environment. Even bright paint will help you to easily find the anchor in the dark or see it at the bottom in clear water.
The weight of the anchor made in this way was 3.5 kg, which is quite enough for reliable fixation of the boat. In practice, such an anchor gave excellent results. He showed himself especially well on the sandy bottom, where many anchors do not guarantee reliable traction with the bottom.
