It happens that you go fishing and don't bite anything, but often you watch a perch or other predator chasing the fry on top. Here the question arises, where to get the bait fish, because it is quite problematic to take a spider with you every time. So one fisherman came up with the idea of how to make a compact trap for catching fry from improvised materials. For these purposes, you will need a minimum of materials, all of them can be found at home without any problems.

The main feature of such a trap is that it does not sink to the bottom, but floats in the water column. With this approach, you can catch much more fry, since it is concentrated in the upper layers. In addition, the trap can be adjusted in depth. The author used ordinary plastic bottles as the main material.
Materials and tools:
- two plastic bottles (the more they are, the bigger the trap will be);
- scissors;
- an awl or a large needle;
- a piece of foam;
- any metal item for a sinker;
- scissors and knife;
- a rope and two carbines.
Manufacturing process
Step one. Blank making
Blanks will be created from plastic bottles. The first bottle is taken and its neck is cut off, that is, the narrow part. Next, you need to cut the bottle in a wide part. How exactly can be seen in the photo.
After that, the second bottle is taken and cut in the widest part. As a result, we get two elements, this is part of the bottle in the form of a watering can and part in the form of a vase or cylinder.
The main point here is that the part of the bottle in the form of a watering can fit tightly into the second part of the bottle. As a result, an almost ready trap comes out.
Step Two Trap loading
The load is necessary so that the trap is easily immersed when lowered into water, since the plastic itself in the water is practically weightless. The weight should be small, it can be almost any item. The author for this purpose turned to the child and he found him a wheel on a metal bracket, this was used as a sinker. You can use bolts, nuts, lead, and more.
Step Three Creation of floats and complete assembly of gear
Floats are needed so that the tackle does not sink to the bottom, but is in the water column. As floats, you can use foam. To do this, holes are made in two pieces of polystyrene foam, and a rope is inserted. As a stopper, you can use bottle caps.You need to make holes in them, insert the rope, and then form knots. The length of the ropes is selected depending on the depth at which you need to catch the fry. Moreover, their length should be exactly the same, so the trap will be in a horizontal position.
The other ends of the ropes are attached to the trap. For these purposes, you need to make several holes in the bottle and install loops of wire. The loops should be on the back of the one where the sinker is installed. At the final stage, the main rope is tied to the cargo of the trap or any other place, for which the trap will be removed.
The principle of the trap
First you need to put a piece of bread or flakes in the trap. Then the whole system is sent to the pond. This can be done not only from the boat, but also from a steep coast, a bridge, or even just throw a trap to the input from the shore.
Malek begins to gather around the bottle for the smell of bait and through a narrow hole gets inside. After this, finding the way out of the bottle to the fish becomes difficult.
After a while, the trap is removed from the water by a rope, and the fisherman gets live bait for catching a predator.
In order to get the fry, you need to remove the insertion part from the bottle. Now the fry can be removed and moved to a more spacious container, where it can live longer.
