Cardboard containers for quick bonfire

Often going to the country or just relaxing in nature, you may encounter a problem when it’s hard enough to start a fire. There can be many reasons, this is the lack of fine brushwood, dampness and much more. Having made several such containers, you can forever forget about such problems. Using such homemade you can kindle not only a fire, but even coal in the grill.

The main advantage of such a campfire is that such a process is absolutely environmentally friendly, which cannot be said using gasoline, newspapers and other substances to light a fire. As the main fuel element for homemade, the author used wood shavings.

Materials and tools for manufacturing:
- cardboard cylinders (bushings from toilet paper rolls are great);
- boards or slats (for creating chips);
- awl;
- a planer.

Manufacturing process:

Step one. Fuel fabrication
Wood chips are used as fuel. To get it, you have to work with a planer. The chips should be long and thin, their thickness should not be more than 0.5 mm, otherwise it would be difficult to set fire to such a cylinder. If pine will be used, then the chip thickness may be greater, since such wood due to the high resin content ignites better. Of course, it is more promising to use soft and coniferous varieties of trees.

Next, the resulting chips must be thoroughly dried for 2-3 days.

Step Two Container filling
Now the containers need to be filled. To do this, take the sawdust and loosely put in cardboard cylinders. If you tamp the sawdust too hard, they will not burn.

Step Three Creating holes in containers
At the final stage, you need to take an awl and make several holes in the cylinders. This is done in order to improve the flow of oxygen into the container. In this case, the sawdust will burn better. Holes need to be made in different places and from different sides, and the more there are, the more active the homemade product will burn.

That's all, the containers are ready and you can proceed to the tests. The container is set on fire right in the hands, you need to take it by one end with your hand, and set fire to the other end using matches or a lighter. Slightly tilting the homemade product, you need to wait until it flares up. Then the container can be put in place of the future fire and put firewood on top of it. Two containers are quite enough to make a fire, but if the firewood is very raw, their number can always be increased.

As for the kindling of charcoal, here is a similar process. The only difference is that you will need to put a couple more slivers on the burning container to increase the heat. Well, when the first coals light up, they will need to be mixed a little to distribute the source of ignition.

Such containers can be made several dozen and store them with frequent fires, it will be especially useful to those who are engaged in woodwork and have a lot of wood waste. Of course, such a homemade product should be stored exclusively in a dry place. But even if the sawdust is damp, they can be dried at any time and the incendiary container is ready to help again.
