Safety of heating batteries for 2 rubles

Hello dear the inhabitants of our site! The autumn-winter period has come, which means it's time to warm up. We do an inspection of the radiators and bring them to readiness.

I am the father of two children, and the question of battery safety in my family is in the foreground: first of all, we are talking about taps. It's time for me to change the tap on the radiator. Now on the market there is a large selection of this product, but I have already chosen for myself - THE DUMPING Crane WITH THE REMOVABLE UNION. This is what we will install.

I will not describe the assembly process, everything is standard. The only thing I want to add is that I always use automotive sealant in combination with tow. A reliable, proven method. I have been installing such cranes for a long time. And here is the reason: this crane has a collapsible nozzle for a hose.

The essence of my revision: remove the nozzle, unscrew the fitting and put a coin in denomination of 2 rubles. We leave the rubber gasket! Ball valves have one minus - they open very easily, just one turn. When children are a problem in the house, there is a danger of flooding themselves and their neighbors. When installing such a crane with my revision, the problem is solved. The cost of my revision is only two rubles! At home, I did such a rework on all batteries, which I also wish you. Good luck!

it’s easier to remove the handle, then the children will not be able to open.

The old crane has become very old, and therefore replaced. And the neighbors below are still asking to lower a couple of buckets. The political system has changed, but the neighbors have remained!

Let's ask the rest of the users: "What was used more often in the USSR for air bleeding in the heating system?"
Here are such "razduzdushki", as Delausyusam showed. Nobody heard about the name “Mayevsky’s crane” - they were called that: “razduzdushki”)))). Later appeared more compact options for a screwdriver. (As above in my photo). Cranes were installed only during "self-made" installation - in the USSR it was difficult (and not always necessary) to buy something specialized. Therefore, mounted "from what was."

But the conversation is not about that! In the photo I see the usual MODERN watering ball valve. So, you put it not so long ago! Obviously not in the USSR! So why was this "garden city"? Isn’t it easier to immediately put the “razduzvushka” and forget? .. Moreover, now they are automatic!

And here, judging by your post, the USSR is still going on? Still using taps for venting and they need 2 rubles?

And in the USSR there were no water meters and Maevsky taps.

Yah? But how did air get out of the system?
What is it then?

It’s too late to change the name: wink: And in the USSR there were no water meters and Majewski cranes. Water was drained not for theft, but for warming up the entire system. It was a good time!

I repeat. On the upper floors of the house, cranes were installed to drain water and air before the heating season.

Well, you wrote this later in your post, this is not the topic itself.
I did not live on the upper floors, but I know that as a rule there is often no water. Water is taken from the batteries, and this happens past the meter. I also know that such cranes are prohibited.
About topic names: - "Safety of heating batteries for 2 rubles".
And what does the heating battery have to do with it when it comes to the tap? Then take higher !!!
"The safety of the apartment and the neighbors below, from flooding. "

I repeat. On the upper floors of the house, cranes were installed to drain water and air before the heating season. Down until hot water goes. So the whole floor warmed up. Ball valves appeared later. He put his “two ruble” protection against curious children, so that water does not spill when opening the tap! If you did not live on the top floor, then you don’t understand my homemade product. You are just lucky in a warm apartment, with batteries without cranes.
And from them (on all floors) they take water.
But about this you need to ask the author, why should he tap?
And I want to ask the author, and what is "security"? And then there are so many advantages, but I do not know. Can run the crane too? Create a problem for yourself, and then with just two rubles, solve it?

Earlier in the houses, cranes were installed on the upper floors to drain water and bleed air so that the batteries warmed up faster. Mayevsky’s crane didn’t exist yet, and his productivity is not the same. It was necessary to lower 3-5 buckets of water to start the system - a relic of the past.
For the first time since the Soviet Union I see a crane on the battery! )))).
WHY IT, please explain?!. It’s not even automatic, but a simple screwdriver driver costs less, but works better. (I'm talking about "Mayevsky's crane")
Actually, there is a Mayevsky crane for venting.
