It so happened that when buying this apartment, the construction engineers provided for a standard storage room. And since it didn’t fit into the interior decoration with its seemingly obscene execution, it was decided to break it, and to glue wallpaper in this corner, lay linoleum and put a guide under the ceiling for hangers-hangers.
But everything would be fine, but what happened turned out to be an eyesore every time we left the bedroom. Although, of course, there was an idea to order a sliding wardrobe in size, but its price for things that will only be stored from season to season, and it will open and close only several times a year, scared me off. And since he was building something full, already in a residential apartment, there was no desire, they decided to get by with "little blood" and do something more budgetary, and at the same time - on their own.
The first thing they decided to do was a chest of drawers for off-season storage of shoes, as well as vacuum bags with things. As a material, they chose a laminated particleboard (she never failed), and threw a cutting. And what was the surprise that a small, seemingly chest of drawers, took almost a whole sheet of 2.7 by 1.8 meters.
Cutting ordered in the neighborhood. They did it quickly, in a couple of days.
And 36 confirmates, or as they are also called, Eurobolts,
15 meters of paper edge per tone,
and six plastic legs on the cloves, I bought in the same place where I ordered a cut.
In addition, I needed a confirmation drill, a hexagonal bit with an extension cord,
cordless drill / driver,
furniture knife, felt block and sandpaper block,
iron,
roulette,
and of course awl. All this I just had at hand.
First, glue the edge with a hot iron,
cut off the excess and sandpaper walk along the edge for fidelity. We also paste over the remaining details.
We collect the “box” on confirmations (three per side),
and we fix the shelves with the same confirmations. By the way, I deliberately did not make the back wall, because until the last moment I did not know how the chest of drawers would stand, because the shelves themselves were designed and made asymmetric.
Nail the legs.
And I forgot to buy mugs to seal the heads of confirmations. But since running to the furniture store was just lazy (and not the fact that they are there), I cut circles from the same edge, a 13 notch. And with the same iron, glued them.
We put a chest of drawers in a niche.
And from above, almost to the very ceiling (in order to make the most efficient use of the whole place), we hang up the pipe.A suitable piece was bought in the same furniture store, but the flanges for it were only narrow, but I had to look for wide ones. But this is important, since the weight of the hangers with winter clothes was supposed to be rather big, I decided to play it safe and take it “with a margin”.
Jackets for the test were immediately hung up: the pipe does not bend or deform. Excellent.
It turned out great, but how can I close the opening itself? The first thought is just the doors, but the neighbor from the lower floor gave practical advice on time: the nook itself is not aired / ventilated in any way, and many of its things there simply “suffocated”. So the decision to hang vertical blinds seemed optimal. Already taken sizes, found a company that will make them as soon as possible and at a reasonable price, it remains only to choose the color and pattern.
But then a cat intervened, who chose this place for his sleep, since here no one sees him, he doesn’t worry, but the whole family is in sight. Therefore, not a thick pillow was sewn onto the pedestal to match the color of our “pantherysh,” and for six months now we have been waiting for him to fall out of love with this place.
But the miracle has not happened yet, the cat is sleeping stubbornly in “his room”, and we have already come to terms with the fact that she is still not finished. But how good things will be in it - the time of long-term operation for the whole year will show, but for now - everything is fine, and even very.
