Making the burner yourself

Making the burner yourself

The best thing in the world is the thing done do it yourself. It, like nothing else, pleases the eye and is unusually pleasant to use. This is because, using such things, we involuntarily recall the production process, which always leaves only pleasant memories, even if in the process of creation crafts some difficulties arose.

For those of us who like to relax in nature, in tents or without them, and at the same time appreciate warmth and comfort, there is one indispensable thing on a trip that each of us can easily do on our own. Such a thing is a camping burner. This homemade it will help you heat the tent, without exposing it to the risk of fire, warm the cooled food, boil the kettle and the like. In general, the thing is quite necessary, interesting and, importantly, easy to manufacture and use.

To begin with, you should describe the list of things you need. It will include - 2 empty tin cans - from under beer, coffee, Pepsi and other things. Banks of any size from any manufacturers are suitable, the main thing is that they be the same. However, it should be noted that the size of the jar used is directly proportional to the size of your future burner, so it’s not worth getting to the buckets. Next, you need to stock up with glass wool, mineral wool or, at worst, foam rubber, which is much easier to find. Glass wool is best suited, since the foam rubber must be pre-compressed, and mineral wool will have to be crushed, but more on that later.

First of all, we cut each of the cans, about 1/3 of the height, considering, again, its original size - the larger our tin, the more it should be cut. After this procedure, you should get 2 trimmed cans, with a height of 5 to 10 cm. Now we need our placeholder, whatever it is - foam rubber, glass wool or mineral wool. When using foam rubber, it should be carefully torn and tamped as tightly as possible; with mineral wool, you should do the same procedure, but it will cost you heavy losses, so it is recommended to use rubber gloves; when using glass wool, we simply tear off the piece we need.

The aggregate of your choice should be tightly laid on the bottom of one of the cans, with a layer of 3-7 centimeters. Next, we put one can on another, so that they fit snugly against each other.

In addition, we can solder them together, however, in this case, the burner will turn out to be non-inventory, that is, it will not be possible to replace the filler, as a result of which it cannot be used more than several times. Now we just have to punch small holes in the middle of our “cover”, as well as on the sides of the burner, like a gas stove.

So we went to the finish line - all that was left for us to do was to light up our unit. To do this, it must be filled with a fuel and lubricant - alcohol or acetone is best suited. It will also work on gasoline or kerosene, but then you will have to get used to the constant soot.

We can fill our fuel both directly, separating the cans, and through the upper holes (if you are on a trip). The main thing is to know the measure in everything - you need fuel only for wetting the filler, you do not have to strive to fill the entire can with alcohol. Next, we warm up its bottom, wait for the fuel to evaporate, bring the match to the extreme holes and, voila, the burner is ready.

From now on, it will become an indispensable companion for you in all kinds of hikes, creating the atmosphere of a quiet hearth, a hearth made by yourself.
