To grow a purple crystal you will need:
- potassium alum;

Now we tie the seed to a thin line and hang it in a solution of alum on a pencil or stick.
Now it remains to be patient and wait until the crystal grows.
Over time, water from the solution will evaporate and excess alum will form a crystal that hangs on the fishing line.
After some time, the crystal will acquire the correct geometric shape, due to the shape of the crystal lattice of the substance. For alum, this is an octahedron or octahedron.
Also, during the growth of crystals at the bottom of the glass and on the fishing line, excess crystals will begin to grow, which must be removed.
These crystals can be saved, since in the future they can be used to prepare a solution and grow other crystals.
