Everyone has probably heard of such a homemade as the "gas gun of Evdokimov." This is a very effective and useful device when you need to quickly heat the room in the cold season. Among other things, such a gun is capable of working autonomously; a 12V car battery and a gas cylinder are enough for its operation. But lovers of such homemade products did not stop there and decided to make this device even more efficient. The article will consider an option on how to improve such a device.
The most important thing that has now appeared at the gun is the damper, which makes it easier to start and control the device.
Materials and tools for manufacturing:
- asbestos cord;

- gas supply regulator;
- steel bar and so on;
- 220V fan.
Manufacturing process:
Step one. Flap creation
To make the gun comfortable to set fire to and regulate the intensity of heat output, it was decided to install a damper on it. It is made very simply. A metal rod of suitable diameter is taken and a longitudinal section is made in it. One end of the rod is bent so that a handle forms. In the axis itself, two holes need to be drilled and the threads for the bolts cut into them.
The damper is made of sheet steel, it is fixed with screws. In order for the damper to open and close with some tension, a spring and a washer are installed on it.
Step Two Burner Modification
To burn the fuel better, you need to redo the burner a bit. For these purposes, the author installed a special insert in the pipe 80 mm. How it looks can be seen in the photo.
Step Three System sealing
To prevent excess heat from coming out of the gun, and not wasting energy in vain, it was nice to insulate it well. It is about the place where the small pipe comes out of the big one. There is a gap here to close it, you need to make a special cover, it will be mounted on self-tapping screws. Well, asbestos cord is used as insulation material.
Step FourGun check
Among other things, the gun was equipped with a more powerful fan, it is a household propeller for the bathroom, powered by 220V. The gun starts when the shutter is closed, and when steady combustion is achieved, the shutter can be opened. For arson, a long gas lighter is used.
The experiment showed that the gun is capable of delivering hot air with a temperature of up to 70 degrees. Of course, everything here depends on its initial temperature. According to the author, such a gun can heat without problems garage or any other similar premises. When the temperature outside is -12 C, it is hot in the garage when such a device is operating.
