Home-made cinder block constructor

Do you have cinder block left after the construction of the cottage? Make a home-made flowerbed out of it - depending on the size of the flowerbed you need, the options can be very different! If desired, the flowerbed-designer can be painted in any color or decorated with mosaics. It is most convenient to plant in such a flowerbed in pots. Plants are preferable to choose ampelous, but it requires frequent watering (!) Or less demanding succulents.

For this "multi-story" flower bed, cinder blocks were glued together with liquid nails to hide the seams.

Advanced country watering can

When using a summer cottage for watering a contaminated watering can, the holes of the tip of its sock are usually clogged (Fig. 4). This happens especially quickly when feeding plants with infusion of mullein, etc. And cleaning the tip lattice is a rather time-consuming task. Therefore, to protect the holes from clogging, I insert a suitable plastic bubble into the entrance hole of the toe of the country watering can, in the walls of which I make a large number of holes with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the holes in the tip heated with an awl. To simplify the process of watering a summer cottage, it is better to always have several such replaceable bubbles. When driving holes, the bubble is removed from the watering can and replaced by another, and the holes in the contaminated bubble can be easily cleaned by supplying water under pressure from the water supply system or simply pouring water from the same country watering can into the bubble.

The watering cans produced in recent years have, as a rule, a tip made of a polymeric material. These tips in conditions of variable temperatures are very short-lived. My summer watering can tip, for example, could not stand even one season. Then I replaced it with the aforementioned soft plastic bubble, making the holes in its bottom heated with an awl. The most convenient was a bubble of rectangular cross section.By turning it narrow or wide, it is possible to adjust the width of the irrigation strip. With foliar top dressing, this allows, in particular, to use the solution more carefully. Such a tip has been functioning properly for two summer seasons and can easily be replaced.

Increase the service life of the cottage greenhouse film

In 1992, I bought the frame of the Urozhaynaya greenhouse manufactured by the ERA enterprise in Nizhny Novgorod. It is made of arches made of profile steel sheet with a thickness of 0.7 mm. All metal parts of the frame were coated with anti-corrosion grease, which was recommended to be removed, and then paint the frame. My attempt to erase and then thoroughly wash solvents with grease from at least one of the 11 arches with a length of 5.9 m led to a large consumption of solvents, and the complexity of this process was significant. The main thing was that there was no guarantee that I could remove all the grease from the surface of the arch due to its complex profile and the presence of a large number of holes in the "arched" parts. Nevertheless, I painted the cleaned arch with whitewash, and the rest, processed not so carefully, with bituminous varnish (black). A whitewashed arch was installed in the middle of the frame.

In the fall, it turned out that the polyvinyl chloride film opposite all the “black” arches had cracks on the sunny side, but not on the film opposite the whitewashed arch. I decided that a significantly greater solar heating of the film adjacent to the black surfaces of the arches, and contributed to its accelerated aging in these places. At first I decided to wash off the varnish from the arches and then paint them with white or aluminum powder. But this turned out to be very difficult, since first it was necessary to disassemble the frame of the country greenhouse. So I made a different decision. Having bought a white ribbon made of fiberglass at a hardware store, I put it on the arches from the sunny side (Fig. 5) and fixed them on the arches with brackets made of aluminum wire. And in order to reduce the “protrusions” of the wire, I slightly flattened the latter with a hammer on the ax of the ax, from which it “thinned” to 0.8 ... 1 mm and gained considerable hardness due to hardening.

As a result of covering the arches with white material, the polyvinyl chloride film has already served for three summer seasons without damage. Fiberglass reflects the sunbeam well, it is strong and durable, and if soiled, it is easy to remove and wash. In addition to fiberglass, a film of fluoroplastic or any white material is suitable.

Folding chair from a pram - ideal for gardening

Tubular frames of prams are an excellent basis for a variety of country crafts. From two of these frames, intended for export to a metal dump, I made comfortable folding chairs for giving. In fig. 6a shows tubular parts of the frame of a conventional stroller. Here is the handle of the stroller, and the connecting rods, and one of the lower pipes to which the wheel axle is attached. The details show some of their sizes, as well as (dashed lines) the places of pipe cuts.

In fig. 6,6 shows a folding chair for giving from these details. If necessary, connect the tubes, I put both tubes on a metal pin 80 mm long, and then fixed this pin in the tubes with rivets.

I also liked whatnots. Thought slipped ...And if you do so the fence, their cinder block or wall of the building. You can make some kind of hedge. For example, for the street it will be a fence and for the yard a hedge. Or so small buildings ennoble. The idea is very interesting, to the piggy bank of it: wink:!

I liked the multi-story flower beds from the remaining cinder block. By the way, the cinder block can also be painted, it will turn out charmingly.
