Do-it-yourself arbolite

Do-it-yourself arbolite

Hello in this article I want to share my little experience in the manufacture of wood concrete do it yourself.

For a long time I was looking for a way to create my own brick or block, a lot of hasty mistakes were made, at first there was nothing wrong, I threw everything, then I returned.

And thanks to his natural tenacity, he found such a simple way in the manufacture of wood concrete.

My principle of making arbolit is very simple and accessible to everyone who wants to make their own building blocks with their own hands. The first thing is that with this method you do not need electricity, you do not need machines and other mechanical devices, only your work and simple ingredients for mixing the solution. My proportions for the preparation of the solution are as follows: one part of cement, 2 parts of sand, 4 parts of sawdust, water. It is necessary not to overfill with water, the solution should be semi-dry, so that when pressing and subsequent lifting of the mold, our brick does not part, and retains its shape. And so all the components must be mixed to obtain, as I described a semi-dry solution. I knead this solution without the help of electrical devices, and a shovel on an iron sheet. At our dachas, such a benefit to mankind as electricity is absent. As for the solution, I kind of described it, now I will describe how I made the mold for the manufacture of blocks.

To make the mold, I took old boards from the old Soviet kitchen table or cabinet, in general, good polished boards. Polishing is very good at lifting the mold, the whole process goes smoothly, then everything is perfectly visible on the video. And so it means sawed in size 200 * 400 * 200, and twisted the screws into a rectangle. And for the convenience of lifting, I fastened the whetstones to the sides of the form, and the ends turned out handles. That's the whole simple design, without investing any of your means.

And so now let's take a closer look at what I needed to make the arbolite and how I did it.

Materials for the manufacture of molds: old polished board, screws, whetstone.
Instruments: hacksaw, screwdriver, ruler.
Materials for the manufacture of the solution: cement, sand, sawdust, water.
Instruments: shovel, roofing iron sheet, container for ingredients.

The first thing I do is start to assemble the form, sawed a board in size 200 * 400 * 200.

Then I begin to twist the resulting boards together.

Next, I sawed and twisted the bars for shape pens with screws.

He put it on top of the form and screwed it with screws as well.

The result is such a rectangular shape with handles

So with the form I hope everything is clear, nowhere is easier. Now let's move on to the process of preparing the solution. I took cement, sand, sawdust, water.

Then he prepared a place where I will make the solution, and simply put a sheet of roofing iron on the ground.

Then he poured out the components, as I described above, one part of cement, 4 parts of sawdust, 2 parts of sand and water, I add gradually until the result I need is visible, that is, a semi-dry solution.

Then I mix everything with a shovel on a sheet of iron.

With the solution, I think everything is clear too.

Now I come to the final stage, this is the manufacture of our unit.

Here, too, everything is quite simple, we pour the resulting solution into the mold, press tapping with a shovel from above.

After the steps I begin to understand the head start.

Well, he raised his form, the block remained on the ground, and the matrix is rearranged in a new place.

And now the arbolite is ready.

And I want to add the main thing, how much will this production cost in home conditions. Components can be obtained without money, except for cement. So with a bag of cement we’ll succeed, somewhere around 40 blocks, the price for this product on the construction market is 30 rubles, we multiply 30 by 40 we get 1200, we subtract 200 rubles for cement, we get 1000 rubles for saving your budget, but it’s not it’s not enough if you planned to build, for example, a bathhouse or garage. For example, I had to build a small bathhouse, it took only 3 thousand rubles for cement, this included pouring the foundation, and manufacturing blocks, even the mortar for the construction was left. So the savings are great, only the large costs of physical labor. Labor is good for the family budget.

: crying: In tin ... How do you live there? Okay, about ecology ... There is a share of common sense with busting ... But about my own products ... I decided to sell my own slingshots, but you run into the authorities ... I don’t know right or wrong ... This is so for Russians not familiar ... Here for a long time everyone laid on each other ...
I saw in the news how a man was tying a drill from a store ... I stuffed it in my pants and went ... And the announcer said: "It's amazing that other visitors did not turn to the guard." Solidarity, yo-mai! : laughing:
In our country, from this "order" everything is moaning the other way around. For example, if you bought equipment for the production of blocks, then:
1. Register an enterprise.
2. The room must comply with all standards. Firefighters, labor protection, ecology, etc.
3. Materials used for production must have all supporting documents: certificates of conformity, confirmation of legal development, etc. Tools and instruments must be verified by the CSMS. (Center for Standardization of Metrology and Certification)
4. Production must be conducted in accordance with GOST, or according to TU. In the latter case, you must develop these technical conditions and obtain all permissions after verification. To do this, you must have the appropriate education.
5. You will sell building materials using a bank account or a cash register (We even have cash registers in taxis) and God forbid, sell "on the left", without documents ....
6. Well, naturally, your products must also be certified and checked for quality and compliance with standards. This is construction, everything is strict.
Otherwise, you can only make blocks for yourself and create a shed in the country. You cannot sell them.

On the one hand, of course, this is all a guarantee that the blocks you bought will withstand the declared loads, will not fall apart and will not "dance in size", or, worse, fonit or emit chemistry ... But, on the other hand, it’s hard for an honest person to earn money...

This is what I understand a little, and we live in a garbage pit, although recently they began to tighten the nuts, they make them clean up, but this is usually only in the spring, and then to the bulb)))

By the way, in blocks, I also did not succeed right away. My first bitter experience was this, I bought a machine for the production of cinder block, and I think I’ll open my own small production now. As the saying goes, don’t say the hop until he jumped over, and the problems fell one after another, the vibroengine broke down, the blocks crumbled, the cement bought expired, the fool already 15 bags)))). The horror spat on this thing and forgot, but it wasn’t there, we buy a cottage and there sand for free, sawdust in the mountains lie in the neighborhood, well, I caught fire again, and here everything went like clockwork, only everything was manual without a machine because we do not have electricity there.
Well, maybe I had something wrong with the proportions .. I tried for a long time - somewhere in the 92nd year, so I don’t remember how I did ... But I just abandoned it because it dried out for a long time - the first batch (20 pieces) fell down. Because I figured out how much time I would need for a box at home ..... and bought gas silicate ....))))
And with filings we now have the truth strictly. As with any "secondary" - not to find either waste paper or polyethylene, not to mention metal ... Everything is well bought up.
Pillets are cheaper to heat than gas. The boiler itself, however, is more expensive, but if the cottage is large - it makes sense to put a pill box. Moreover, it is as automatic as gas. Therefore, they are in demand - and if there is demand, then production work. All power-saw benches plan the sale of sawdust for six months in advance ....

Yes, and it’s not possible for us to pour a mountain of something and just leave it. Environmentalists will levy such fines for polluting the territory that they don’t want to live ... Even for the weeds, land owners are fined. And already, if someone has taken somewhere a mountain of something, then there will be a consequence, they will establish the culprit, make them remove them and punish them. We have strict environmental issues - even garbage should be sorted. In addition to household waste - they are not sorted.
And for the demolition of trees, for example, the fines are very serious .. Even if an enterprise on its territory wants to take down a tree - you need to get an environmental permit and pay to plant three others ... And without permission - fines of up to a thousand dollars for each sawn tree, plus , again, paying the cost of planting three trees for each sawn ... This is in its own territory. And in the forest .....

Yes, it’s tough of course with you, but we have mountains of sawdust near the summer cottages, some kind of wealth was left here, we can say a whole career, they take whoever they want for their needs. I’m here for the blocks, then from them the bathhouse was sputtered, someone adds to the composter.

Blocks by the way, I quickly dried up, only if rain gained moisture if not covered.
Do you still have sawdust you can safely take? We (Belarus) have not taken ten sawdust for the last ten years. Since boilers on pellets appeared, only the lazy one does not organize pellet production.)))). So sawdust is a valuable raw material and is sold for money, and even by appointment ....
And in the "pre-pilot" times, he also tried to do arbolit. But for me, for some reason, the blocks have dried for a very long time - more than a week it was necessary for them to dry more or less. And since I didn’t have a huge roofed area - I waved it at that ....
