DIY vulcanizer

Today, the automotive industry is very developed and the development of all kinds of devices accompanying it. The life of a motorist every year only gets easier, but that's it fixtures substitute labor driver powered by electricity. Here our author came up with the idea, what if the battery sits down, and began to look for a solution to this problem. What for example, if the battery sits down and you need to glue the wheel, the electric device only works from 12 V. The solution is simple, the old-fashioned old-fashioned way, to make a vulcanizer do it yourself and not be afraid of this problem anymore.

The principle of operation of the vulcanizer is very simple - the patch is pressed by the clamping mechanism, the motorcycle piston serves as the clamp. After clamping, 40-50 g of gasoline is poured into the piston and set on fire. The process of vulcanization of rubber and its gluing takes place for 5 minutes while gasoline burns in the piston. A piece of newspaper must be placed under the piston so that the rubber does not stick together. So in the old-fashioned way in 5 minutes you can seal the camera in an emergency.

Our author sets to work, and so what will he need.

Materials: motorcycle piston, angle or rod, long bolts, screws, nut board.
Instruments: hacksaw, drill, screwdriver, set of keys.

The photo shows all the simplicity of the design, nothing complicated was taken; the board was sawn to size, two holes for bolts were drilled at the edges, a clamping rod is put on top of the bolts. The clamp in this design is a piston from a motorcycle

The bolts were inserted into the holes and secured with screws, as shown in the photo. That's essentially all the vulcanizer is ready

You can take with you on long trips and not worry.

RespectI saw how this vulcanizer works in my youth. Simplicity in manufacturing - reliability in use. It is nice to realize that there are still thinking heads in our country.
I used this method in my youth about 40 years ago. I wouldn’t advise putting paper on it, let alone a newspaper. The paper burns and the rubber becomes brittle. Better PTFE film or, at worst, thick aluminum foil. The process of vulcanization of rubber should last at least 20-40 minutes and the camera should cool down in the clamped state. In 5 minutes you won’t even heat up the patch. I worked for 45 years as a driver and re-glued the cameras as much as you did not see.
