DIY do-it-yourself water drum sound sensor

DIY do-it-yourself water drum sound sensor

With the advent of the spring-summer country-garden season, there is a need for seedlings in water and irrigation. Of course it is better to water more often, but not everyone of course succeeds in regularly coming to the country to water vegetables. Before irrigation, water must be defended with cold water from under the tap, it is categorically impossible, because you can ruin everything in the bud. Usually summer residents collect water in large containers, barrels. During the time that you are on the site turned on the water, it is typed, and you mess with the beds themselves. But it often happens that they earned money tired and forgot to turn off the water, went home for two days, returned, and then the flood and its neighbors were flooded. An unpleasant moment, of course, but if there are meters installed on the water, this is generally horrible. So our author got into such a situation and decided - something needs to be done with this. And the thought came to my mind to make an alarm for filling a water barrel do it yourself. He did not want to buy the device for money and began to develop an alarm device. The driver’s anti-sleep alarm was taken as the basis

And so what further will the author need for his design.

Materials: signaling device, wire, tennis ball, plastic tube.
Instruments: Glue gun, pliers, hammer, screwdriver.

The principle of operation of this signaling device is when the driver begins to fall asleep and his head tilts, an audible signal sounds. The operation occurs due to the mercury ball enclosed in the flask with contacts, when tilted, the ball rolls and closes the contacts and a signal is triggered. This device disassembled.

The first step of the author is the preparation of the wire.

Then, on the flattened end, the author puts on a plastic tube

Such a loop for subsequent fastening was made on the wire.

Then, at one end, the author glues the signaling device with a glue gun.

A tennis ball is glued to the other end, which will act as a float.

The author mounts this design on a column for a hose near a barrel, in this way.

And as the tank is filled with water, the signaling device deviates to the bottom thereby simulating a falling asleep driver.

When fully filled, the tilt angle will become maximum and an audible signal will sound.

After the tank is filled with an alarm, you can remove it so that it does not get wet in the rain or the thieves do not steal it.

And the rest of the design leaves in place like this.

The author did an excellent job, now he will not be able to leave the water not turned off. Everything's under control).

Instead of such a sensor, it was possible to use a shock sensor from a burglar alarm. He is a ball. About 50 years ago, I used these to protect the territory of the site. And the easiest way was for the author to take the float valve from the flush tank and that's it. I've been using these for 40 years and I don’t need any control. Full automation.
Like author for inventiveness. Elegant solution to the problem.
I don’t understand, do you have a “whistle” toilet cistern? And mercury thermometers are also "prosecuted !!!"
".."
And all things. And so the neighbors will “whistle” for joy, and you are drinking beer at this time.
: wink:
The mercury ball is prosecuted !!!
I once had a barrel of water in a greenhouse heated for irrigation. So I just used a float valve from an old wall-mounted toilet tank! It is filled - the valve is closed, the hydrophore is turned off ....
