Do-it-yourself frost protection

At each cottage, or in a personal plot, there is a source of water supply - a column or a well. Having a well is certainly better than diverting from a mains water supply system for many reasons. Water from a well is naturally cleaner and healthier for both humans and watering plants. At low temperatures in winter, the water does not freeze, since thermal heat does not allow it to turn into ice. But not every summer resident has the opportunity to have a well or well in its area. Primarily summer residents use bends from the public water supply network. Of course, there are no complaints in the summer, except that they can turn off the water due to some kind of breakdown or accident at the water utility. But in the winter with a column trouble. All summer residents who have a bathhouse in their summer cottage always come to take a steam bath in the winter and wash themselves.

But for those owners whose columns are standing, the water often freezes in the riser and a whole range of problems immediately forms. How to be, what to defrost and other whirling. And so the problem is very serious and needs to be resolved. It is necessary to look into the very essence of the problem - why does water freeze, and how can this be prevented? Water freezes in the riser from low temperature, often any kind of column insulation does not save, because we have severe frosts. But the author found a simple and ingenious solution to this problem. In the lower part of the pipe, when deepening into the ground, he installed a tee and a Mayevsky crane. And this is how it works, the drain valve below the ground level will not freeze, since the thermal heat of the earth agreed above will not allow the pipe to freeze, and from the top of the pipe the water will drain into the drain through the Mayevsky crane and the riser will remain dry to its underground part, which prevent freezing of the riser. And so now we will consider how the author did all this and what he needed for this.

Materials: Mayevsky crane, tee, adapter, fum tape.
Instruments: set of keys, gas wrench, screwdriver, pliers.

First of all, the author prepared everything.

Next, install the adapter.

Then screw the Mayevsky crane.

That's essentially all - the author did his job perfectly, now his column will not freeze even in the most severe frosts, and our inventor can come in the winter and draw water into the bathhouse and then he will take a steam bath well))). The author’s column is also insulated, but this, as already agreed, is not very saving.

Will you clean this filter in winter? It will clog at a time and your entire reset system will “cry”. This is the first, second ... Such filters are placed in the heating system, this is a coarse filter and it is not suitable for the Mayevsky crane.
A filter is in front of the Mayevsky crane, the author has foreseen this.
Very loud statement "Excellent" !!! Such a system will not work reliably for many reasons. With any quality of water, any grain of sand will clog the hole of the Mayevsky crane at a time. Water discharge will occur very slowly, which is dangerous in severe frost. Maintenance of such a device in winter is very difficult.
It’s easier to just put a three-way valve or to the extreme in the outlet pipe (after the valve), drill a hole 2-3 mm.
