This is how I keep my fishing accessories. I call it "Disturbing case", as in the army. A suitable box-suitcase is a military one, from the device. It has everything and is always with you. It is not required to assemble and disassemble each time, again.
Can be used as a small stool.

Mine is easy to assemble if you looked. And in the kit (I did not show there) there are two folding U-shaped racks. In case you can just dig a dimple and make a fire in it. But I’m carrying it with me, because from the outside it’s the usual “diplomat”, but there is always everything you need - skewers, barbecue, or racks, two baking sheets (for ready-made and for raw), poker ....
And, correctly, a barbecue made of thin iron is not for permanent use. For permanent - from the "seven" I have welded stationary near the house and in the country. But you can’t load them in the trunk ....
I am not a special lover of barbecue, in terms of them there. But barbecue is an event !!! With a good company!

You are a fisherman! I - never! I do not like to sit with a fishing rod. And fish soups too ...
But, "in nature," when the godfather brings the catch and cooks the fish soup on the fire, and I cook the kebab, we all enjoy eating both ...
By the way, another “godfather” has a “pilaf set” in the trunk - a cauldron, a tripod, all kinds of shovels, rice and spices in a special bag. And the Uzbek skullcap! : wink: It remains to capture only meat and butter.

I agree with your arguments. But a “disturbing" suitcase is already a necessity for me. So there is a suitcase (just like that), especially for the fish soup, it has a set for six people. These are wooden spoons, liquid bowls, wooden ladle, cups, tea containers with a handle, all kinds of spices, sugar, tea. Salt ... and much more. We drive in the ear, put it in the car and it doesn’t hurt my head that I forgot something.

You always know where what lies, but you will only find it on the second attempt ... (But this can also be avoided by putting everything in boxes or by stitching additional compartments in the portfolio.) But fishermen poured people with a car into the fishermen, it’s really more convenient to carry a suitcase

and various methods for extracting a hook from a fish, and electrical tape, and adhesive tape, and scales with a tape measure, and net hooks, and instructions for tying knots (although I already know).
But take a word, it’s more convenient to look in a box, you can sit on it and nothing will break during transportation. What can not be said about the portfolio (already passed).

My portfolio performs this function. It has everything from Swiss pliers to electrical tape! And a lot of small things (garbage is 10%). Previously, all this was in my little backpack (for cycling), now a large briefcase appeared and the contents were divided ... And last summer I carried a gas mask and an adjustable wrench in a small backpack ... (Why I don’t know)
