Even a very small pond in the country is a colorful corner, directly attracting and calming the territory of your garden. In order for the pond to always please you, you need at least minimal care, and the smaller it is, the faster it is likely to become contaminated. The good appearance of the reservoir will help you maintain the filtration system, which can be done with your own hands and without much effort and cost.
We use the principle - airlift, very simple, but effective. This principle consists in the following: air bubbles tending to the surface push out purified water.
To make a filtration system, you need an aquarium compressor and a very small amount of simple materials:
- foam rubber;
- thread (kapron);
- skewers;
- cardboard;
- juice straw.
- hose (diameter 10mm)
Take the prepared foam rubber and cut it into equal parts, an average of 15x15 cm.
For convenience, to continue work, we will make a template from cardboard, which is necessary for us to accurately cut holes.
To get the hole in perfect shape and the same size, we’ll do device from a metal container of a rounded shape, just cutting off the bottom.
So you need to cut holes as follows
The number of foam blanks should be such that when they are stacked, the height size is slightly less than the depth of your pond.
One foam blank remains solid (without a hole), it will be final.
We install an air duct in the final billet, which will serve as a tube for juice.
We fasten all the workpieces together with the help of kapron thread and tie the ends to the skewers.
Next, in one of the previously cut round we place a small hose and install in the upper part of the filter.
We cut off the upper skewers, and leave the lower ones unchanged, since they will be necessary to press the filter to the bottom of the pond.
Connect the air duct of the filter to the aquarium compressor hose.
With stones or something else we fix the filter at the bottom.

The water filtration system is ready, you just have to turn on the compressor and enjoy a clean pond!
This simplest system maintains the purity of water throughout the warm season, and you do not need to clean the filter for the entire period, it is enough, and the aquarium compressor easily pumps 150 liters of water / hour through such a filter.
