Do-it-yourself electric underfloor heating

Any person who has ever been engaged in construction, or repair, knows firsthand how much work and effort needs to be invested to get a result. Construction and repair is of course a waste of money. Basically, people first save up money for a long time, and in many ways they refuse to hire a team of builders, because they themselves are afraid to start work without experience and special skills.

But not everyone can hire builders to complete the construction or repair. How can people be without sufficient funds, everything is as usual simple, roll up your sleeves higher, and get to work. Do not be afraid of difficulties, as they say "eyes are afraid, but hands do."

The author who built his house with the help of a construction team, in order to continue economical construction, decided to carry out part of the work on his own, namely, the author wanted to make a heated floor in one of the rooms.

Many people will say that it is difficult and this work can only be done by specialists. But everything is far from being the case, laying warm floors is within the power of every person who can work even do it yourself. The first thing that does is of course is the purchase of electric underfloor heating. The main thing is to immediately check this product for resistance, that is, find out if the device is working or not. Puts a wall and floor under a cable with a temperature sensor. Lays a cable in this groove, checks and plasters. Then the floors themselves are laid, they need to be placed so that they do not fall under the furniture, you need to think about this point in advance. The laid floors are then poured with cement screed and leveled. After drying, the tile is laid on the surface.

That's the whole difficulty of filling a warm floor.

And so now let's take a closer look at what was needed for this work, and how it produced it.

Materials: heated floor, cement mortar, tile, cable, heat sensor, regulator.
Instruments: grinder, puncher, screwdriver, tester, trowel, putty knife.

And so the first thing he demonstrates is what product he bought.

Then it checks the resistance with a tester.

Next, he pounds the wall and floor.

Then he prepares a thermal sensor, puts it in this groove and plaster.

Then it connects and installs warm electric floors.

Further does the filling of the floor.

Then sets the heat regulator.

And finishes the job by laying the tiles.

That's all the warm floors))). Apparently there is nothing complicated and it’s quite possible for a simple person who does not own a construction profession. The author is quite pleased with the work done and advises all people to do the repair themselves.

: winked: You're right, the author is far from these things (such a repair). To give advice (recommend), you need to understand this. (Another winch.) smile
DO NOT DO THIS !!! The author of this action decided to heat the ceiling to a neighbor from below? ))))). Well, or the basement ceiling, if it is a private house ....
Where is the insulating layer ???? With this installation, we get only half the heat, or even less ... The rest simply heats the overlap and turns the meter on us !!!
A common misconception: "Heat goes up" !!! Often I hear such nonsense .... People confuse convection with thermal conductivity! Hot gas or liquid rises up! Because it expands and is lifted by the "Archimedean force." In a solid body, heat flows in all directions evenly! And the amount of heat given to the adjacent material depends on the thermal conductivity of the material and on the temperature difference, but not on the position in space! That is, if the floor slab is colder than the tile, then more heat will be spent on unnecessary heating of the slab!

The house is still not so scary. The air is warm and does not take away heat from the surface, even though this heat is not enough. The floor will be warm, however, the counter will wind up three times.))))).
But I know two cases when people were laid under the steps on the porch to thaw ice in the winter. And then "Ay-yay-yay! Does not heat! Does not work, but the counter twists!"))))). And the neighbor’s exactly the same cable thaws everything in a couple of minutes .. He doesn’t need to warm up the entire array of the frozen porch, he heats only the tiles, because under it there is polystyrene!))))
