A folding table is a convenient and practical thing, indispensable in many situations. Folding tables are ideal for small apartments and houses, as they not only save space, but are easily transformed into a large dining table if necessary. Folding picnic table fits easily in car and give outdoors convenience and comfort. The advantage of this furniture is that making a folding table with your own hands is not difficult. Only drawings, materials are needed.
There are many varieties of designs of folding tables. Depending on the functional purpose, their appearance and size vary. But all the structural decisions are united by one detail - the height is always done more than the folding part, otherwise the table simply will not work out. The finished table is decorated in various ways appropriate to its purpose. For example, they are decorated with decoupage or painted in any color.
Folding tables are used in a variety of areas of life. They are used as counters for remote trading, they are used in picnics, installed in summer cottages as a seasonal dining table in the open air, and often such furniture is bought in apartments, the area of which does not allow to establish a stationary dining table for a large number of people.
In accordance with the scope, the tables vary in type of material. Aluminum structures with a plastic worktop are optimally suited for outdoor use. These materials are not subject to corrosion, but at the same time they weigh a little, which facilitates their transportation. But in the house such furniture will not look very appropriate. It is better to opt for a countertop made of natural wood, plywood or laminated fiberboard, with a wooden frame.
To organize a table, it does not take much effort, but each stage must be calculated, as a result of which the result will be appropriate. A folding table consists of 2 elements - a support system and a countertop, both elements being made with the same complexity.
The author decided to make a folding table for cottages do it yourself, so as not to buy at an inflated price in the store, and thereby save money for the family budget.
Materials: Plywood, board, timber, wood screws, paint.
Instruments: jigsaw, grinder, screwdriver, hammer, hacksaw, drill.
And so, first, the author allows us to get acquainted with the scheme of the future folding table.
Next, prepare the base.
Collects a rectangle from bars.
Attaches legs to it.
Puts and checks for stability.
Next, cuts plywood.
Cut corners.
Screws to the base.
Makes extendable legs.
It paints parts.
Then it collects all the received parts into a single design.
And so the author made his folding table, and for the weekend he took it to the cottage. My wife really liked the table made by her husband’s hands, and you can see in the photo how she carefully puts it out.
Now at this table the family will gather for the weekend and holidays. It's nice when I did something with my own hands and people really like it.
