Often after some capital construction, either at you or somewhere else, there remains a mass of pallets on which the building material was brought - bricks, tiles and much more. Some builders, after construction ends, the pallets are simply dumped and burned. Or they leave it on the street where they are exposed to weather influences - rain, sun, etc.
Unfortunately, I myself have repeatedly seen how construction waste is destroyed in such a barbaric way. But, nevertheless, pallets are an excellent building material, from which, with hands and a minimal set of tools, you can make a lot of useful things. For example, disassemble them on the boards and from them already make some kind of structure. For example, a fence. Or an outbuilding at your summer cottage.
It is about such a building that I want to tell in this article, namely about the barn, which can be made from old pallets. They are good in that they are easily enough fastened together, and their sizes are convenient. Installed, sheathed and please-the wall is ready. They are also good because they are easy enough to buy. They are not expensive. In my area for one pallet they ask from 60 to 140 rubles.
So, we proceed to describe the process of building a shed from pallets.
To begin with, as in any other construction, the author made the foundation. To do this, he used ordinary cement blocks, which he installed at a distance of the width of the pallet, the joints of which just fall on the blocks for a uniform load on them of the rest of the structure. Further, pallets are installed on the foundation.
Between themselves, the author bolts them. The length of the bolts depends on the thickness of the transverse board of the pallet.
The author of this master class, the height of the shed will be equal to the height of two pallets. Everything is bolted. In the front of the future barn, a spacer for rafters is made, which will provide a bias in a given direction for the flow of natural precipitation.
When the rafters are installed, begins to make the crate. As an option, the roof of the pallets themselves was proposed. But it will be too bulky and hard. Therefore, I settled on the usual crate method. Boards with a board size of 25 x 100 mm went to the roof.
After the crate is ready, it covers the roof with roofing material. In his case, this is galvanization, due to which the sun's rays in hot weather will be reflected from the roof surface and the structure will not be so hot.
After we have built and covered the roof, we proceed to wall cladding. Particleboard was used for this.
To prevent particleboard from moisture, the author first covers it with a draft layer of oil paint.
Next, gates are installed, which, incidentally, can also be made from boards, which can be obtained by disassembling pallets. After installing the gate, the shed is painted again, so to speak, the finishing coat.
On the side you can attach another structure, under garden tools, firewood, or something similar. This is how the finished shed of pallets looks like. Cheap and cheerful, which does not require special assembly skills and which will last for many more years.
