One author decided to share a simple catamaran on the control panel. Here, empty plastic bottles are used here, they fulfill the task of floats. For the manufacture of the deck used a piece of board. In general, if there is a suitable motor with a screw, a battery, as well as electronics for control, it is going to homemade very simple and fast.
The idea for home-made was a floating watermelon.
Materials and tools for homemade:
- a piece of board (used spruce);
- two bottles;
- motor;
- air propeller;
- battery;
- electronics for management;
- two rulers;
- drill;
- servomotor;
- screws, screwdriver;
- aluminum corner;
- food container (to create the case).
Putting a catamaran:
Step one. Make the deck
The deck was made of a piece of board 22 mm thick, but you can use other material, preferably lighter. On the board you need to make the necessary markings, and then cut with a jigsaw.
Then, in the deck, you need to drill a 6 mm hole for the M6 bolt, a rotary motor stand will be installed on it.
Next, you need a manual jigsaw, with it you need to cut a hole for the servomotor.
Step Two Making a stand for the engine
As for the engine stand, it can be made from the same board as the deck. To make a rocking chair you will need a piece of aluminum corner. Two screws are used to mount the rocking chair to the rack.
In the rack, you need to drill a hole with a diameter of 5.5 mm, with this diameter a bolt of 6 mm is screwed into it with an interference fit.
Step Three Catamaran hull
For the manufacture of the hull, the author used an ordinary food container, it was under its dimensions that the deck was sawn. The container lid is attached to the deck; screws are used for this. All electronics will be in the case, this is a battery, a speed regulator, and also a receiver.
As for the engine mount, it was embedded from the line. To increase the angle of deviation of the rack, the rocking chair was increased using a piece of the ruler.
Step Four Final build phase
At the final stage, it remains to attach floats to the catamaran, in this case empty plastic bottles are used. Bottles are attached using two rulers. Rulers are screwed to the deck with self-tapping screws, and bottles are attached to rubber bands.
So that the wood does not absorb moisture, the deck needs to be soaked several times with colorless varnish or painted.
That's all, you can begin to test homemade. According to the author, the catamaran reacted quite successfully to the teams. Such a boat sailed not very fast, but during acceleration it buried its nose into the water, and had to slow down. Also, during the first tests, the catamaran got stuck in mud, and the author had to swim to get it.
