Modern technologies for the production of building materials have made stucco molding more accessible, thanks to which it is becoming increasingly widespread.
Plaster stucco molding does not deform over time, is resistant to temperature changes, completely harmless and is not a source of extraneous odors.
Although most people consider stucco finishing to be a very difficult task - in fact, this is not entirely true. The main difficulty is precisely the creation of the stucco elements themselves, however, working with them is not beyond the limits of complexity. If necessary, any gypsum products can be sawn with an ordinary carpentry saw.
Columns occupy a special place in stucco decoration, since they often not only perform a decorative function, but also play the role of power elements of the building structure. For this, a metal rod is placed inside the column. That is why gypsum columns are hollow inside. At the end of the finishing work, this cavity is filled with concrete.
Restrictions on height are dictated only by the dimensions of the structure itself - gypsum columns are produced in the form of modules from which you can assemble a structure of any desired height. If necessary, fit the modules can be cut to the required dimensions.
Some styles of exterior design of buildings also involve the use of a large number of stucco elements. For this purpose, various gypsum profiles of radius and direct forms (cornices and moldings made of gypsum) are intended. Like other similar products, they are made from gypsum and fiberglass concrete. In addition, such decorative elements can be used to decorate walls and facades with an uneven contour. Such products are fully consistent with standard profiles, so they can be easily combined with traditional stucco elements.
An important point in the design of any external parts using stucco molding is reliable waterproofing and sealing. First of all, this applies to gypsum stucco elements.Glass fiber concrete products are absolutely resistant to precipitation, do not corrode, and are very impact resistant. That is why fiberglass concrete is the leader today among materials for the production of stucco.
It should be remembered that the surface of stucco elements installed outside must be painted with several layers of special paint. This increases the life of the finish and opens up space for the imagination of the designer.
