Along with breeding rabbits, many began to breed chinchillas. Unpretentious in leaving, are ill a little, breed well. Chinchillas make good contact with children, so many get them instead of a cat, dog or parrot. Author homemade also engaged in the cultivation of chinchillas, and for their maintenance he himself made a cage from an aluminum profile.

The author acquired an aluminum profile and accessories in a store selling commercial equipment.
A connecting element for attaching the profile to each other can also be purchased at the store, but the author decided to make it himself.
This is a store fixture.
In order to make the fastening itself from PVC sheet, the author cut a 40 by 22 mm rectangle. The thickness of the rectangle is 13 mm. From the end of the rectangle at the edges I removed two grooves so that a 5 mm shelf remained between them. Drilled a through hole for the bolt in the middle from the end.
Next, the author establishes the connecting elements. Racks for a cage are made of a semicircular profile. The rectangular profile is installed across. In a semicircular profile, in the place where it will be connected to a rectangular one, it installs a mount. The cleaning cage underneath must move, so the wheels are screwed on from below the racks.
The bottom and back of the cage are covered with plywood. Since the thickness of the plywood used by the author is less than the width of the profile groove, it was necessary to seal the place of abutment with rubber. For those who will make a cage following the example of the author, he advises using 5mm plywood, which corresponds to the width of the profile groove.
The connection points are fixed with screws.
From the sheet of plywood 10 mm cuts the bottom of the cage. Adhesive tape to the plywood.
Whatever chinchillas gnaw on the floor, plexiglass is laid on top.
The roof and side walls are made of mesh. The thickness of the rod should be from 0.9 mm, the cell is not more than 12 by 25 mm.
From the profile collects the roof. Having cut the grid to the size, the edge bends and inserts into the groove of the profile.
Installs the roof. In the same way closes two side walls.Screws metal corners to the walls, at a distance of 20 cm from each other vertically. On them sets the shelves carved from the lining.
The author decided to make the doors out of glass. Having measured a doorway, I cut two doors out of 5 mm glass. Installed them in the opening on special loops. Set the lock.
A well-ventilated, spacious, and cleanable chinchilla shelf is ready.
