DIY weather station

The author decided to make an interactive weather station from an old monitor homemade.

Tools and materials:
LCD monitor;
-VGA cable;
-Glue gun;
-Screwdriver;

First, the author disassembles the old monitor and removes the LCD panel and the control board from it, and you also need a cable connecting them. The author draws attention that only the panel on which the cable at the back does not pass through the entire panel is suitable for homemade work.

Using a glue gun, fixes the display in the right corner of the window with the connector up.

I lengthened the wires and connected them (you can use any equipment to access the Internet).

As a software, a Google browser with extensions was installed. In order for the weather to be current, I installed an automatic update. Increased brightness and scale for better readability.

According to the author, the panel has been working for him for about five months now and there are no complaints about work.

"Lengthened the wires and connected them (you can use any equipment to access the Internet). "Yes, the author used a VM, so he has such an opportunity, and for ordinary mortals you can use a computer about which he writes. At the expense of the monitor, only two of me are lying in the garage just because the LEDs are off. By the way, about the virtual machine I met a program with which you can run two OSes at the same time.

I should dust the old stump, you can easily use it.
The skirmisher "modestly" missed such a trifle as a computer. The author, however, used VM on the server to save money.Well, this is a common thing with us - a home server where you can run virtual machines for all kinds of crap. ;) Yes, and at work, the boss will say: "Well done, the monitor was heaped up, the server loaded, what a good job!"
A little expensive to perform a single function.
