Step 3: Cutting the Guitar
Having pressed the workpiece with clamps to the worker, the table cuts out the draft workpiece of the guitar.
Step 4: heading the neck
The head of the neck of the guitar should have a slope relative to the neck. To give a tilt, the author processes it with a grinder.
Step 4: Resonator Fabrication
The Tahitian guitar has a resonator hole (voice) located at the back. The lower part of the guitar is, as it were, upside down in comparison with conventional guitars. On the front deck of the guitar, the author marks the center. Using a cutter, selects a cavity. Saw a groove 3 mm deep above the circumference. Then, using a crown, he makes a through hole. The hole is located in the center, its diameter is 6 mm. Then it cuts out a disk from plywood and glues it onto the resonator bowl.
Step 5: Grinding
Processes the guitar with tools and materials for grinding.
Step 6: Pitch Holes
The Tahitian ukulele has eight strings, respectively, eight pegs are needed. On the head of the neck, the author marks a place for splitting and drills holes.
Step 7: Finishing the Neck
Using a hacksaw and a chisel, a cut is made in the upper part of the neck. In the slot sets the sill.According to, using a ruler and a vernier caliper, marks the places of installation of frets. Makes cuts. In cuts glues a wire. Edges the frets with a grinding wheel.
Step 8: Oil Treatment
Applies oil to the surface of the guitar. Oil is applied in several layers. After the oil dries, it polishes the surface with a rag.
Step 9: Installing Pegs
In the holes in the head of the neck, he sets the pegs and screw them.
Step 10: The Nut
The author made the lower threshold of teak. He made cuts to the strings under the string, then glued it to the deck. Below the nut sets the holder.
The author made strings from fishing line. He tied it to a string holder, the other end to the pegs.
The Tahitian ukulele is ready to tune it and you can enjoy its exotic sound.
