Do-it-yourself self-twisting extension cord from a broken vacuum cleaner

Hello! Today I will talk about a self-rolling household electric extension cord.

We will need the following materials: a broken vacuum cleaner, a board, bolts, screws, other small things, a few tools.

When the coil is removed from the vacuum cleaner, it needs to be fixed somewhere. You need to assemble some platform or box. I will place the drum on a large wooden “bracket”.

Customize the platform dimensions for yourself. In my case, the case has the following dimensions. The square, which is the main part -
16x16 cm. Two planks, which in the photo are "sides" - 6x16 centimeters.

It's time to do hole marking. In turn, draw two lines from two opposite corners. Then we find the center of the wooden square. Measure the dimensions of the plastic spring holder Divide these sizes by two, subtract 0.5 and put them on each side of the center point.

When the holes are marked, proceed to drilling.

Now let's get down to the coil preparation. On each side we measure half a centimeter, draw lines, and at their intersection in the corners we drill small holes.

When the above holes are done, we’ll deal with the fasteners. Now you can install the coil after drilling a hole for it in the center.

At this stage, you need to make a stop. I made it from a piece of nail, curved by the letter "G".



Putting the case together.

We proceed to install the outlet. We insert the wires into the terminals and twist them. And then we fasten the socket itself.

We close the socket with a protective cap.

Done! We are testing.
