Selected wallpapers, table legs, or sofa upholstery - many lovers of the cat family face such problems. You can avoid such problems if your pet has a place where he can sharpen his claws. The author’s pet has a similar claw-point, and he did this as a gift.

Step 1: Sidewalls
First, the author using a router cut out two side walls. The height of the side walls is 70 cm.
Step 2: Making Shelves
Cut plywood shelf blanks. One for the top shelf. Two for balancing the counterweight. And one more actually for the scratching post, which will be located vertically. Grinds them.
Step 3: Counterweight
So that the claw-tip does not turn over, the author decided to make a counterbalance below. Cut off, two long and two short, pieces of a profile pipe. Cooked them in the shape of a rectangle. He brewed all the ends of the counterweight, except for one.
Sand fell into the open holes of the pipe. Sand should be distributed throughout the pipe, so I had to turn it over and shake it. After the sand was filled, he brewed the remaining hole.
Secured on the counterweight frame, bottom and top, cut sheets of plywood.
Step 4: Varnishing
Finished wooden parts, the author covered with stain.
Dried.
And varnished.
Step 5: Upholstery
Plywood shelves and scratching post, it is necessary to cover with any material. For these purposes, the author chose a carpet.
Fastens the carpet to the plywood with a construction stapler.
If necessary, finishes the staples with a hammer.
Trims excess material.
To compensate for uneven floors, furniture linings are glued to the bottom of the counterweight.
When all the details are broken, proceeds to the next step.
Step 6: Build
To pre-marked places
fastens shelves.
For structural strength, the author used long screws.
The shelf is ready.
Step 7: Claw Point Testing
First, the author tested the scratching post on his cat.
And finally, she was delivered as directed.
