In my working corner, there is a low (only 14 cm) shelf where I stored all kinds of sewing trifles: braid, various shreds, laces, threads and other “sewing” rubbish. And it did not look very aesthetically pleasing, so there was a need for small boxes.
As a creative person, I didn’t want to buy ready-made ones, and I didn’t come across “quite the size”, but I didn’t want to lose free space. Making them from chipboard is also not that: they would be heavy, and the thickness of the plate itself would “eat up” their volume. Therefore, I undertook to make them from hardboard: thin, durable and fairly lightweight material. And since the shelf on which these boxes were supposed to be placed is not quite of an ordinary shape (on the one hand it is 40 cm deep, and on the other - only 10), then open them like this:
But if necessary (specifically - in your case), it can be absolutely anything, to the desired size. After all, the hardboard is cut with an ordinary clerical or shoe knife.
We collect one box.
Glue on the outside with a self-adhesive film, and with a brush from the inside, coat all the seams with glue “Moment”.
This will be quite enough (verified by several months of regular operation) for their fortress.
The facade of the box is framed by a photo frame. And for the convenience of getting under a small handle (I bought in the nearest furniture store), we drill (or pierce with a powerful awl) two holes.
Insert screws, any picture you like,
And then we fix them through to the box. One is ready, we also do the rest.
Now we lay out our accessories for sewing, and put them on the shelf.
That’s it, it’s done.
And I, being twice a grandmother, love my grandchildren so much that I inserted their photographs into the frames.
After all, I am so pleased to watch them every day. Although this is a matter of preference for everyone.
P.S. Did just for these corner shelves.
