To make our mousetrap you will need:
1) Galvanized sheet.
2) Scissors for metal.
3) Pliers.
4) A couple verified (8-10 mm. And 2-3 mm.)
5) Red-hot wire (for the manufacture of a folding spring).
6) Klepochnik.
7) File.
And so let's get started.
The mousetrap will consist of four main parts:
1. The case of the mousetrap.
2. The plug is removable (with the plug removed, the bait is inserted).
3. The bottom.
4. Slam shut hinged door.
For convenience, I marked each part with my number on each photo.
We start from the building.№1.
Cut a workpiece of 190 by 120 mm in size from tin.
We divide it into three equal parts (on the side which has 190 mm.).
On the central marked part, we measure 10 mm each. Cut with scissors.
Next, bend the workpiece as shown in the photographs.
The plug is removable. No. 2.
Cut a workpiece of size 100 by 60 mm.
We bend from one edge, retreating from about 15 to 30 mm. a strip under 90 degrees, (a bend is needed to pull out the plugs from the body).
We adjust the plug so that it freely passes into the grooves of the case.
Just do not overdo it, it should not hang out much.
The bottom. No. 3.
Cut the workpiece 120 to 80 mm.
We mark 10 mm on three sides with a marker.
The corners that I darkened, cut off with scissors.
Now bend along the marked lines (all in one direction).
In the lid, stepping back from the edge of 20 mm, and dividing in half, we drill a hole with a diameter of 8 to 10 mm.
Also, stepping back from the larger hole by another 20 mm, we drill two more holes with a diameter of 2 mm.
Cooking the hook for the bait.
You can use any wire, not necessarily red-hot.
And prepare from the same wire a U-shaped bracket (suitable in size for the holes).
We put the hook into the bracket and fix it on the body.
The hook should be shorter on top, and longer go inside.
Bite off the excess and bend the ends of the wire
Now you can connect the body and the bottom.
I took advantage of the small vise for convenience.
Having pressed together the body and the bottom, I drilled two holes of 3 mm, I just have rivets of this size.
The time has come for a slamming door. Number 4.
Cut a piece of 95 by 200 mm.
Mark the following ....
Carefully trim the excess, and bend as in the photo.
We customize to the body (the door should open and close freely).
Then slice at an angle small scarves.
From the front side in the upper corners we cut lines with a depth of 5 mm.
And bend a piece inward.
Having pressed the door to the body, we drill holes in the ears of the door and the body. On both sides.
We insert the pin and check the free movement of the door.
If necessary, we customize everything until it opens freely.
Also cut off the extra piece of tin. Bending the upper end in length to the hook.
So that the hook could hook the door.
Let's take a spring for the door.
I found an old spring in my body, aligned it, and then twisted something like that.
I made a pin.
In the case we make a hole with an awl (we will insert the short end of the spring into it).
And next we saw a small groove. The long end of the spring will go into it.
We also make a hole in the door with an awl to insert the second end of the spring.
We assemble the door, housing, pin and spring.
To fix the pin, use regular cambric, stretched along the lateral ends of the pin.
Now, to charge the mousetrap, you need to, Open the plug, fasten the bait. To cock a door and fix it on a hook.
